"It's not too packed today." I said, as we walked into the Lakuna Cafe. We went and sat at our usual booth near the back. I sit on one side with Aman, and Esperenza sits on the other side with her boyfriend, Cayden Camden.

Cayden is new to our little group. He's stands at 6'2, brown eyes, blonde hair, and has a swimmer's body. Him and Esperenza have been going out for almost a year now, and they seem pretty happy together. I always see them laughing and smiling together but, I'm still a little suspicious about him. I keep an eye on him.

"Would you like your usual?" our waitress, Cindy asked.

"Yes please." Aman replied.

"So, how was yall's day?" Cayden asked.

"Long." Esperenza sighed, leaning back into the booth.

"Good", I began, looking up at Aman, "Aman and I skipped 2nd period earlier that day to go get breakfast at McDaniels."

"And you guys didn't come get us or even ask us if we'd like to go..ugh..Rudeness." Esperenza said, sitting up immediately.

"We just wanted to have some time alone." I replied.

"There is no more time alone for you guys. I have a boyfriend now, so I can't be excluded now. For 3 years I was the third wheel and now I'm finally not. You two are one and Cay and I are one. The two of "us" make a couple. Couples go places together. They eat together, they party together, they slee-" Esperenza stopped.

"You done?" I asked.

She stuck her tongue out at me. Once Esperenza had placed her tongue back in her mouth, Cindy came to the table with our drinks.

"A sprite for you, a sweet tea for you, and two cokes for the fellas. You're nachos should be out in about 10 minutes." she said with a smile and then walked away.

I took a sip of sprite.

"Kahn's having a party tomorrow night. We should go." I said, sitting my glass down.

"We can't. We have to study for our Lit Exam." Esperenza replied.

"I told you guys to do that last week. You only have to read over it once and you've got it. We do have photographic memory, remember."

"Fine. We'll study tonight and we'll just meet you at Kahn's house tomorrow night."

"Thank you." I said with a smile.

"So. Since you're all going to avoid it, what are we going to do for The Right of Dedication next week?" Aman asked.

I sighed.

"What are we supposed to tell our parents? Hey mom, we're to go get dedicated into a vampire tribe. We'll be back in 2 weeks." Aman said.

"Why are we going to be gone for 2 weeks?" Cayden asked.

"We have to "learn the ways" of the cult." he replied.

"The Cult of Milosh doesn't have ways." I replied.

"Well, don't you want to spend time living with the cult, getting used to their culture?" Aman asked excitedly.

"Not really." Esperenza said quietly, taking a sip of sweet tea.

"Well, we are. So come up with an excuse someone. We only have a week left to come up with something. Unless you guys just want to on the news for 2 weeks as missing teens." said Aman.

"Better than nothing." Cayden replied.

We quieted down as Cindy came near with our Nachos with jalapenos, tomatoes, salsa, beef, cheese, and sour cream.
