ACT TWO
SCENE 1
It was in the night in Joseph house, where Chroma set up their table for dinner, Amanda was not at home, her mother was waiting for her to come back.
Chroma: {Chroma and Joseph are sitting on the dining table, where they are waiting for Amanda to come back} {stand up} You see this girl, she is not yet back and I warn her not to stay long.
Joseph: Where did she want?
Chroma: She said she want to pay visit to her friend, Peter.
Joseph: {turn over to his food} Hope everything is fine.
{continue to consume his food}
Chroma: {interject calmly} She will return safe by god grace.
{it was in Peter’s house}
Amanda: {Peter’s house} Hmm---- Peter I am taking my leave.
Peter: This early.
Amanda: This not early, now is pass 8:00pm.
Peace: {see Amanda coming out from Peter’s room to where she is sitting in the parlour} Amanda are you going?
Amanda: {admiringly} Yes mama, I promise my mummy not to stay long, I always promise not to be late night out.
Peace: {cheerful} Ok, great her for me.
Amanda: Ok {turn over to where Peter is standing} see you again, bye.
Peter: See you again.
{wave their hands to each other. Amanda take her way back home}
Chroma: {later on Chroma heard door knocked, it was Amanda} Are you back?
Amanda: {merriment} Yes mummy I am back.
Chroma: {angrily} Doesn’t I warn you not to stay long out in the night.
Amanda: {shocked and scathed} I am sorry mummy, I wait to help them with some chores, that’s why I stay long, but by god grace I won’t repeat it again.
Chroma: {shake her head ominously} Ok, come have a seat, let’s have our dinner, don’t repeat it again.
Amanda: Ok {come forward silently and have her seat}
Chroma: {as they are consuming their dinner, Chroma cut in silently} Amanda anything from Alie?
Amanda: {dejected} Nothing yet.
Joseph: {casually pats his shoulder} What do you mean Amanda, he cannot yet pay your bride price, why is he wasting us our time, if he can’t pay for the money why would he not inform us earlier.

Chroma: {cut in sharply} That’s what he certainly said always. He is always past ponding it. {look over to Amanda} let me tell you, he is just wasting you your time by past ponding and pretending to pay for it latter. {sorrowful} {pause a moment}
Chroma: {continue} Look that now he cannot pay your bride price, when you get married how do you expect him to feed and take care of you. {grimace} look we are all doing this for you and your benefit, we do not like to see you suffering. All this love that you offered to each other is less important, the best thing you want and like to have from Alie after your marriage, 95% is care remaining 5% that’s love. when you get married would you eat love?
Amanda: {open her mouth widely surprising of her mother utterances}

Amanda: {frowning} What, {grimace} Mama the only person my heart loves and care is Alie not Alienka. Alienka has no Peace of love from my heart {pause} Apart from this I have already accept Alie as my suitor, the person I wish to marry, and live with.
Chroma: {hesitant} I know Amanda, I know you love Alie very much, but since he cannot pay for the bride price nothing we can do, you cannot get married without bride price been paid.
{quiet a moment}
Chroma: {continue} Amanda, please for my advice you have to accept Alienka and give him chance to seek and seize your heart, as I think Alienka loves you more than Alie.
Amanda: {admiringly} This not true mom, whoever says this, does not know what Alie meant to me. They did not know what stage Alie step in my life.

Chroma: {open the door and went out of the room}
