𝗩𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝘆𝘄𝗶𝗻 (𝗖𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝟴)
"Well, that did not go well, haha," I laughed as I exited the camp, smoldering flames behind me. I had expected a few wraiths inside, not twenty, so that was something.
Fighting them head-on was probably suicide at this point. Thankfully, I had a few alternate ideas on how to win.
My sword dripped with crimson tides, the blood vanishing with a simple command. 'Well, having a little fun wouldn't hurt anyone, would it?' I paused, tilting my head slightly. 'Except those wraiths, hahaha.'
I hated this feeling-the lack of control, the sense of not being real. Yeah, I was a clone, but who fucking cares? I felt real, and that was what mattered. The real me might be the one in charge, but I still mattered. Or, well, maybe I didn't. In the long run, my life held no meaning.
I scratched my horns lightly, feeling their rough texture before sighing, the gesture hollow and meaningless. "I still have work to do, for my future to come true, and I will stop at nothing to achieve it," I muttered softly, my voice sounding almost distant.
Brief images flooded my mind-of me, of Sylvie, of Arthur, of everyone.
I walked for minutes, and minutes, trying to get back to base for my next instruction. I didn't have to be there, since the real me could just flood my mind with voices anyway. Ehehe, how fun!
Suddenly, a bird landed on my shoulder, its blank eyes staring at me, as if trying to communicate. I turned my gaze toward it.
"Fuck off, bird." I turned sharply, causing the bird to croon before it took flight. I watched its form grow smaller and smaller until it vanished from sight.
"Don't have time for that," I muttered, before continuing my walk. Relaxing... maybe living in a cabin? Yeah, that would be nice. Really nice.
Suddenly, I stopped, feeling something off. My eyes dropped, widening in alarm. My foot, which I expected to plant firmly on the soil, was passing right through it.
It felt odd, like it was separated from me, but it didn't hurt, and there was no blood. Gently, I lifted my foot an inch, then lowered it again, finding it strangely interesting. What was I doing again?
Lowering my foot a few more inches, I snickered to myself. But suddenly, as I tried to pull it out again, knowing I had to leave, my foot didn't budge.
''The fuck?''
I leaned back, trying to pull my foot out, but only slipped and nearly fell onto the dirty ground. At the last moment, I caught myself and glanced down.
