Third Person

The world seemed to stop, as if to take a desperate breath before everything came crumbling down to ash. Everyone stared at Veer in confusion, not understanding the flow of events that had unfolded.

In an instant, purple motes of aether appeared above Arthur's head, swirling around before coalescing into a crown of light. His usual golden eyes seemed to glow faintly as he narrowed them in concentration.

Sylvie continued to stare at Virion, clearly baffled by his continued existence. Her gaze shifted to his apparent corpse, and she gritted her teeth in frustration. "How is this possible?"

"I don't know, Sylv, but it doesn't matter right now. We can still kill him," Arthur replied, his voice cold and calculating. Regis tensed, sensing that something was profoundly wrong. The zone itself was still splitting open with red cracks that glowed with an ominous light he couldn't quite understand.

"You seem quite shocked, brother. Am I right in guessing you didn't plan for this?" Virion's smirk widened slightly as his multicolored eyes locked onto Arthur's. Though their emotions were different, they shared a common thought. And that was a deep, burning necessity to confront and end the threat before them.

"I don't know how you pulled this off, Virion, but it changes nothing," Arthur said through gritted teeth. His hands ached to form a blade powerful enough to tear through the devil standing before him. ''I'll still kill you, for the sake of the world.''

''So naive, I guess you aren't that different from my Arthur, yet he somehow still ends up twice the man you will ever be.'' Virion drummed his fingers on his thigh as he spoke nonchalantly, clearly not taking it seriously.

Arthur instantly used ''Godstep'' to appear in front of Veer, extending his fingers in a cutting motion. He grasped Virion's lone thread and ripped it out. Veer trembled violently, his eyes closing as if he were about to fall.

But then, he suddenly teleported even higher and stuck out his tongue. "Just kidding, lmao! Did you really think you could tear away my fate?" Arthur's eyes widened in shock as Veer teleported back. Despite the effects of King's Gambit, Arthur's mind struggled to comprehend what he had just witnessed.

''Arthur, what happened? Why didn't you rip out his fate?'' Sylvie asked, her hand gently grasping Arthur's to give him some relief. Arthur looked around at Kezess, Regis, Sylvie and finally Veer, currently blowing raspberries at them from all the way up in the sky.

''His threads- thread, it's not connected to anyone, it's- I.'' Arthur spoke, his voice showing his confusion. He slowly turned to stare Virion in the eyes, one filled with glee, the other with suspicion. ''The only thread he has, is connected to himself...''

Arthur's crown vanished as he deactivated King's Gambit, not willing to risk overusing it at the current moment since Virion seemed to be more amused watching them than fighting, but he held his guard up just in case of emergency.
