The quinjet touched down in a secure CIA facility, its engines humming softly as the Avengers stepped onto the tarmac. They were exhausted, covered in soot, dust, and the remnants of their latest mission. The criminal they had been chasing-a high-level arms dealer-was securely bound and escorted by agents waiting for their arrival.

Natasha Romanoff led the way, her sharp gaze scanning the surroundings as if on autopilot. Behind her, Tony Stark muttered something about how they needed better post-mission snacks, while Steve Rogers maintained his usual stoic demeanor. Clint Barton nudged Wanda Maximoff, sharing some inside joke, while Thor, Sam Wilson, and Bucky Barnes trailed behind, each lost in their own thoughts.

As the team approached a group of waiting CIA agents, one man stepped forward, his presence immediately commanding attention. He was tall, broad-shouldered, and carried himself with an air of quiet authority. His tailored suit was impeccable, and his dark eyes sparkled with a mix of amusement and something far more intimate as they landed on Natasha.

"Agent Romanoff," he said smoothly, his voice like velvet, tinged with a familiarity that sent a ripple of tension through the air.

Natasha's steps faltered for the briefest moment-so brief that most of the team wouldn't have noticed. But Steve did. So did Bucky.

"Logan Matthews," Natasha replied coolly, her tone measured, her face unreadable.

Logan's lips curved into a smirk that was equal parts charming and infuriating. "Still as sharp as ever," he said, his gaze lingering on her in a way that made the rest of the team exchange curious glances. "You always did have a knack for leaving an impression."

Natasha ignored him, turning her attention to the other agents. "Here's your guy. He's all yours."

But Logan wasn't so easily dismissed. He stepped closer, his focus entirely on Natasha. "You've been busy," he remarked, his voice low enough that it felt like a private conversation, despite the audience. "Didn't think I'd see you again after...well, you know."

The way he said it-low, intimate, loaded with implication-set the team on edge. Wanda tilted her head, her brows furrowing as she tried to piece together what was happening. Clint glanced at Steve, who gave a subtle shrug, his eyes never leaving Natasha and Logan.

"Logan," Natasha said evenly, her voice betraying none of the irritation simmering beneath the surface. "If you're done reminiscing, we've got other things to do."

Logan chuckled, the sound warm and familiar, and yet there was a sharpness to it. "Always so serious," he teased. "Lighten up, Nat. It's not every day you run into an old...friend."

The word hung in the air, heavy with meaning.

"Friend?" Bucky muttered under his breath, exchanging a skeptical look with Sam.

Natasha's jaw tightened, and she finally turned to face him fully. "You're right," she said, her tone like ice. "It's not every day. Let's keep it that way."

Logan's smirk didn't waver, but there was something in his eyes-something that suggested he wasn't as unaffected as he pretended to be. "You've changed," he said softly, almost as if the words weren't meant to be heard.

"People do," Natasha replied curtly.

Behind her, the team was practically buzzing with questions. Tony, never one to stay quiet for long, raised an eyebrow. "So, who's the smooth-talker?" he asked, his tone laced with curiosity.

"Yeah," Clint chimed in, his eyes darting between Natasha and Logan. "Care to share with the class?"

Natasha shot them a warning look, but Logan was already answering for her. "Logan Matthews, CIA," he said, offering a hand to Tony, who shook it with a bemused expression. "Natasha and I go way back."
