The front lawn was already littered with red solo cups and people passed out drunk. I cringed as I passed, carefully trying not to step on any part of them. I heard people yelling but the loud rap song playing drowned their voices out.
"This is the type of party your crush goes to?" I asked.
"Yeah. He's friends with some of these people," she replied absentmindedly.
"Oh," I replied as we neared closer to the door. Sean's house was pretty big. He was the football team captain and all the girls wanted to 'do' him, literally. He was known as the partier in our grade because he would always throw huge parties.
Leah pushed open the door and walked inside with me following behind her. My eyes widened at the sight in front of me. People were dancing, or should I say grinding, on the kitchen counter tops, tables, and basically anywhere there was enough room to get on. In the kitchen, people were guzzling beer like their lives depended on it.
I turned around to look at Leah but she was nowhere to be seen. I frowned and turned in a circle, trying to look for her. I felt the guy's eyes looking at me up and down and I shuddered. I felt a tap on my shoulder so I turned around and was met with someone I actually knew, Sherry.
"Hey Sherry. Oh my, are you okay? Are you drunk?" I asked.
"NOooOoo," she slurred while grabbing onto my shoulder for support.
"Come with me, we can sit down on the couch over there if we just push the people making out on it off," I smiled but she was too far gone to understand what I was saying.
I dragged her over to the couch and squished Sherry and myself onto the couch between the making out couple and the armrest.
"What happened to you?" I asked her.
".... beer pong... you should try...," she mumbled.
I sighed and looked across the room and saw Leah sitting on a couch next to some guy. My face lit up as I turned back around to Sherry to ask her if she wanted to come over with me. My smile quickly turned into a frown when I found that Sherry was no longer sitting next to me but making out with some random dude on the dance floor. Why does everyone always leave me?
I got up from the couch and made my way through the sweaty bodies dancing next to each other.
"It stinks in here," I said as I stood in front of Leah, "I couldn't find you, where did you go off to?"
Leah stood up in front of me and said, "Shhhh, this is the guy I wanted to introduce you to."
"Ohhhh," I nodded my head.
She tapped the guy on the shoulder to get his attention and blushed while saying, "Carter this is Aria, Aria this is Carter."
I took in his appearance. He had dirty blonde hair and light blue eyes. He seems tall just by looking at him sitting gone the couch. He wore a white t-shirt that showed off his muscles and black jeans.
"Hey," I smiled.
"Hey," he nodded at me.
"So how do you guys know each other?" I asked while still standing in front of them.
"Met her at the coffee shop while our moms were talking," Carter replied looking at Leah. She only blushed and nodded her head. "How do you guys know each other?"
"Preschool," Leah and I said at the same time which caused us to laugh.
"Cool. So I'm guessing we go to the same school?"
"Yeah," I answered.
"Weird, I haven't seen you around before. Well anyway, it's nice to finally meet the famous best friend."
