After that heartfelt moment, Viñas looked at Precious with a teasing grin.
“So.. anong drama yon? Ang dami mo talagang drama sa buhay."
Precious rolled her eyes. "Excuse me, hindi yon drama no—it was an emergency! Buti na lang mabilis akong kumilos kaya nakasunod agad ako."
Viñas smirked. "Mabilis? Eh halos hindi ka nga naligo bago sumakay ng eroplano."
"Hoy! Basher ka talaga! Ano bang amoy ko ngayon?" Precious leaned in closer, pretending to sniff her arm, which made Viñas laugh and push her away.
"Okay, fine! Ang bango mo naman." Viñas admitted, though her cheeks tinged pink at the closeness.
Precious stood up and stretched. "O, tara na! Hindi ako nagmadaling sumunod dito para magkulong sa kwarto. Let’s enjoy the beach while we still have time!"
Viñas raised an eyebrow. "Asa ka naman na mabilis akong gagalaw. Hindi pa nga ako kumakain."
"Ang tamad mo talaga." Precious teased. "Fine, bibili na ako ng pagkain sa baba. Ano ba gusto mo?"
"Surprise me." Viñas replied with a lazy wave of her hand, bumalik ulit ito sa pagkakahiga.
"Typical.” Precious muttered, shaking her head. "Sige na, hintayin mo ako."
Precious headed to the small café by the beach. She ordered some fresh fruit shakes, sandwiches, and a slice of mango cake.. something she knew Viñas would love. As she waited for the food, she look out at the ocean, the waves reflecting the afternoon sunlight. The peaceful view reminded her why she had pushed herself to come, despite.. what happened..
‘It’s her birthday.’ she thought. ‘Kahit anong mangyari, kailangan kumpleto kami para sa kanya.’
Back at the room, Viñas finally got up and changed into a light dress perfect for the beach. She was brushing her hair when Precious came back, holding a tray full of food.
"Food’s here!" Precious announced, setting the tray on the small table.
Viñas turned to her with a smile. "Wow, ang dami! Para sa birthday ko ba talaga 'to, o sa gutom mo?"
"Para sa ‘yo, syempre! Pero huwag kang mag-alala, akin kalahati dyan!” Precious said with a laugh.
The two ate together, laughing and teasing each other as usual.
Later that afternoon, Precious and Viñas joined Eva and Marina by the beach. The group decided to take a quick dip in the ocean before sunset.
"Viñas, birthday girl! Ikaw na ang queen today!" Eva said, handing her a drink.
"Queen? Palaging queen naman siya sa tingin ni Precious." Marina teased, winking at Precious.
Viñas almost choked on her drink, while Precious turned red. "Hoy, Marina! Tigilan mo ako!"
"Ang cute niyo, eh!" Marina said, laughing.
Viñas, pretending to ignore the comment, grabbed Precious by the arm. "Tara, let's swim. Baka kung ano pa sabihin ng mga 'to."
The two ran towards the water, laughing like kids. Precious splashed Viñas, who retaliated by dunking her in the waves.
