I'm awaken by the sound of shouts and a loud engine tearing through the land off in the distance, it isn't close enough to worry about right now... Bu it could be troublesome latter. Raiders, being the only ones with working vehicles, are not fun to deal with.

I stand up, still groggy after not getting enough sleep that night, and I look out the covered window. The sun still hasn't cleared the tops of the trees yet. I sigh as I sit down and build up a very small fire, just enough to light up the room and see my equipment and my supplies. 9 cans of food, 21 rounds for my rifle, and about 7 bottles of drinking water with two empty bottles. I also have about 15 yards of rope, the cloths I always wear, and a sleeping bag, with a simple flint, and steel and a multi tool and a combat knife.

I'm looking ok on supplies for the time being, but it'll only last so long, and I'm noticing the supplies I am finding are getting more and more scarce every discovery. Things aren't good and with raiders having vehicles? They are finding more and more places to loot faster than I can.

Anyways, all this aside, I need to get moving, soon. I have everything packed up and ready to go, I just need to grab my rifle and put out the fi- a noise from down stairs, sounds like foot steps. There it is again, glass crunching under a boot. I crouch down low and grab my rifle while putting the fire out quietly. I hear the cabinets opening downstairs and the sound of two more pairs of feet in the building.

Suddenly a voice, it sounds young... Like a teenager, but gruff, life a survivor. I can't make out his muffled words but I hear the sound of two confirmers, they sound female but I can't be sure. I quietly move towards the door and click the lick off. Suddenly one of the old wooden stairs outside creeks and I hear a female voice, "there was a massacre in here... I wonder what happened to them..." I hear them pass my door slowly, I know their fixed on the last room on the left... That's where I was last...

I hear a muffled scream from the room and I throw open the door thinking there's another wild animal in the building and I turn to my left and see them backing out of the horrific mess. "Are you alright? Is there another dog in there?"

They look at me in utter confusion before I hear running up the stairs. I emidiatly lay my rifle down and turn to look at the guy, tall, dark hair, brown (almost black) eyes, and dirty regular cloths. "I'm not here to hurt y'all, I stumbled on this place just as you... In that room down there, the one they just backed out of, there was a wild dog, one of 6 that attacked this place. I covered the bodies down stairs but I couldn't stand the sight of that room there".

He looks at the two down the hall who shake their heads in agreement as to why I didn't go in there. "Alright , you two come here, you, don't pick up that rifle" I look at him and stand there.

"Are you three short on food, water? I can share a few supplies if you need" I look at them with only acceptance.

"Yeah... We found this place and had hope there'd be food or water here, shelter, something. I didn't find anything in the cabinets. I'm assuming you found it?" He looks at my, not trusting, but agreeing.

"Yeah, I found 8 cans if food and 4 waters along with 6 bullets in the mans rifle downstairs. Come in here, all 3 of you, I have window border and covered so a fire can't be seen out if them since it still dark. I'm gonna pick up my rifle, don't worry I won't harm y'all or take your stuff, in a space like this, 3 could take one any day." I step back into my room and put a bit of sticks in a pile and start up a small fire and pull out 3 cans of food and start cooking them. I also pull out 3 water bottles and hand them to the three.

The girls are both short, one has red hair, and one has black hair. They wear heavy bright cloths to block the sun but in different styles. They take the water apretiativley, and I hand them the few utinsiles I have and hand them to me.

After about 5 minutes I pull the cans off and use the multi tool to open them and I slide them to each person. "Here y'all go, eat up"

They don't object, just eat.

==========================

After an hour of talking while they eat and explain what happened, we figure out that we got here under similar circumstances. I asked them if they heard the vehicle and shouts earlier, they said yes, that's what led them here. I told them about what happened to me as well and they understood why I didn't tell them my name.

We decided to head out together, I trust them a bit more, and I feel like they are trusting me to but I dunno. I feel good about this, like I'm making a good choice. I am glad we met them.

I hope this turns out for the best. I just hope this won't go over badly.

We head out into the scorching day with full stomachs. We keep to the shadows and stay low, hoping no one spots us. Hopefully well be fine.
