The Maze Runner {Teresa's POV}

           My head pounded as I woke up. It was dark and freezing cold. I looked around to find that I was trapped inside a metal cage, with nothing except a few boxes and some rope to keep me company. Suddenly the cage started to rise upward toward the ceiling, like some type of elevator. It began to become unbearably loud, which only made my headache worse. Then the cage stopped moving and it was completely silent, I could hear nothing except the faint murmur of my breath. At the roof of the cage there were two doors that began to open and a bold light began to seep in through the holes of the cage, blinding me. Once my eyes adapted to the brightness of the light, I noticed people. They were all boys and they were all standing around the now open cage, just staring at me. No one said a word until one of the boys broke the silence. "It's a girl." He said with a british accent. I looked at all the boys, not paying attention to their loud whisper's, but trying to recognize at least one of them.

          When I had looked at all the boys and not recognized any of them, I tried to think, but nothing came to my head. Not my name, not my parents, not my friends, nothing. I looked at all the boys again, just to get my mind off the fact that I didn't remember anything, when I saw him. He was a boy I knew, and there was something about him that just made me stare. Then, without even thinking, I blurted out the first thing that came to my mind, "Thomas!" He looked down at me while all the other boys looked up at him. He had this embarrassed look on his face, like he knew something that he didn't want to tell anybody. He just stared at me his face full of recognition and worry, and I stared back at him wanting him to say something, but he didn't. Then my eyes began to close slowly, and the sounds of whispers faded away as I was swallowed by a black cloud of fog, and just like that I was a sleep.

           When I awoke from my deep slumber I was on a bed, in a shack. All I could remember was the dream I had about Thomas. I was in some type of water, and I was drowning, and then I was on a computer sitting across from Thomas, every few minutes giving awkward and cute smiles back and forth, then there was a lady in her 40's or 50's with blonde hair who kept saying "Wicked is good" and there was something else that I didn't quite catch but didn't have time to think about. There was no one else in the room and I wanted to keep it that way until I remembered something...anything. After about 10 minutes of trying to remember something I gave up. I went outside to do god knows what in a place I've never even seen before in my life. I started walking outside when I noticed that I was trapped in a box, a big box...more like a room, with no ceiling...or a cage, with no roof. But it seemed to be outside, there was grass and tree's and little bushes and lots of small and big handmade shacks that were a little to broken to call houses.

          As I was observing the shacks someone caught my attention. "Hey!" A boy said, it was the boy who had the british accent.  "The girl is awake!" He shouted, to no one in particular. But still, the boys came. I started to run to the nearest shack, and oddly enough the boys didn't follow, they just stared blankly at me, like a deer caught in headlights. I stopped running and started walking trying to catch my breath when I tripped over a tree root and hit my head hard against the ground. I didn't move for a couple seconds, I could feel the eyes of all the boys staring at me, like knives stabbing me in the back. Then it hit me..."Teresa." I whispered to myself. My name is Teresa! I got so excited that I forgot where I was going, but reality caught up with me. I stood up and started walking as fast as I could to the shack. I climbed up at least three ladders until I reached the top, and when I did the boys started surrounding the shack.

          "Come down!" One of them said. I was afraid to look. There were a couple bags and boxes full of rocks, knives, silver wear, and couple other things that I didn't quite recognize. My first thought was to try and make the boys leave so I started throwing the rocks and silver wear down at them. All they did was get big pieces of bark and tops of boxes to protect their heads and bodies from the rocks. "Would you quit throwing those rocks you shank," A boy screamed "Your waisting my time I got to go and clean up after all the pieces of klunk down here!" I had no clue what he was referring to but I wasn't going to stop throwing the rocks until they left or I ran out.
