Chapter 21

KONOMI P.O.V.

I happily walked beside the three boys, my backpack on my back bouncing slightly.

"The rainy season is finally over!" Sugino-kun cheered, looking equally as happy as I was feeling.

I nodded my head in agreement, skipping ahead before turning around to face them, "Right?! No more fuzzy, puffy hair," I smirked sending the boys a smile.

"Congrats Konomi-chan," Nagisa-kun kindly stated as he smiled at me.

Sugino-kun who walked between Karma and Nagisa-kun threw his arms over his head as he grinned boyishly, "I say we go out to play in the open air somewhere."

Nagisa-kun and I nodded our heads in agreement, "Sure, where do you wanna go?"

"How about fishing?" Karma questioned as he grinned wickedly.

"Oh, that sounds nice," Nagisa-kun immediate agreed looking slightly excited, "What can we catch at this time of year?"

Suddenly the red haired boy's teeth grew sharp as devil horns and tails appeared, "The summer time is the best seasons for Yankees. They'll be lured in by our prospect of extorting our bait, Nagisa-kun and Konomi. But we'll take their money instead," Karma stated as he made fishing motions with his hands.

I covered my eyes with a hand while Nagisa-kun shook his head, "Is there such thing as a Yankee season...?"

As the two teens argued, I noticed that Sugino-kun suddenly stopped walking, looking at something.

I followed where he was looking and saw him staring at a field where it looked like some students were practicing baseball.

I watched in impressment as a teen who stood by a mound pitched a incredible throw.

"Nice pitch, Captain!"

The teen on the mound took his hat off, wiping sweat off his face with his arm. 

As he looked up, he seemed to noticed us and called out, "Hey, if it isn't Sugino! Been a while hasn't it?"

I looked at the boy beside me in surprise, did Sugino-kun know them?

Suddenly a crowd formed around the gate, people greeting Sugino-kun.

"You're going to pitch for next week's ball game right?"

I looked at Nagisa-kun in question.

Next week?

"Oh? Come to think about it, I haven't decided yet. But I definitely want to," Sugino-Kun answer as he smiled.

I smiled at the interaction but it soon disappeared as Sugino-kun's friends started saying things like he got it easy because he's in class E.

Listening to them say thing as being chosen, I stepped up, smiling at them.

"Hello," I greet, making them notice me.

I didn't miss how some of their eyes open up wider as they stared at me.

"I'm Sugino-kun's classmate, Royal Konomi, it's nice to meet you all," I softly state, gently smiling at them.

"Oi! Isn't she the one that has the massive fan club?"

"Oh yeah! The one who spoke up at the school wide assembly!"

"Aw, Sugino! You lucky bastard! You have the number one beauty of our school in your class!!"
