3rd Person
"Hey, Darkness. I have some interesting news," Mizumi says after coming home one day.
"Oh?" Tokoyami looks up from his book to give her his undivided attention.
"We got an offer from Endeavor. He has fully recovered already, and he wants to take over for Hawks while he is still healing his wings. What do you think about that?"
"I must admit, that is quite a flattering offer but..."
"Yeah, I feel that way too. No offense to Endeavor, but my loyalty and trust is with Hawks. I would rather wait for him to get better. And who knows? It could be any day now..."
"Let us remain hopeful and optimistic about this rather unfortunate situation. I'm glad to see you have yet to lose your faith in our mentor."
"Yeah, you too. You've been a lot stronger than me this whole time, and I'm really grateful that you've been able to comfort me..."
"Of course. That's what friends are for," Tokoyami smiles softly as Mizumi takes a seat on the couch next to him, and the two spend time talking about their mentor until it gets late, sharing a bowl of apple slices.
Eventually, Mizumi falls asleep with her head resting on Tokoyami's shoulder. He seems a little uncomfortable at first, but gently nuzzles her head as he accepts her affection.
Neither of them realize that Shinso was nearby, watching over them quietly from outside the window as he struggles to contain his jealousy. It's not long before Shinso can't take it anymore, and enters the building to take his girl upstairs to bed. Mizumi wakes up slightly, looking up at him lovingly as he picks her up. She sighs happily and clings to her man, not seeing the dirty look Shinso gives Tokoyami before waking away.Shinso has been driving himself crazy with jealousy as he notices how often his girlfriend spends time with her friends, but with Tokoyami in particular. Since he works with her and is in the same class as her and their dorm rooms are right next to each other, they see each other constantly. Hawks had his students working extra hard before their recent mission, causing them both to not be home as often as usual. Tokoyami and Mizumi were there for each other constantly while Hawks as in the hospital, and their friendship seems to be growing stronger with each passing day. This makes Shinso feel a little threatened, and he feels the need to protect the girl he cares about.
Shinso sleeps at Mizumi's side, wrapping his whole body around her as if to keep her within his embrace and can't get close enough. Mizumi doesn't seem to mind him being clingy, happily nuzzling herself into his embrace as they sleep together all night. When Mizumi's alarm goes off the next morning, Shinso groans at the sound. He sits up and leans over to turn it off, temporarily forgetting the awkward position he is in with his girlfriend. Mizumi stirs from her sleep beneath him, and smiles up at him lovingly as she greets him.
"Good morning, Hitoshi~"
"Morning, Kitty. How did you sleep?" Shinso smiles as he settles back down at her side. It's the weekend, so there was no reason for her alarm to go off and he doesn't care to get up just yet.
"I slept really well. You know I always do when you're here with me," Mizumi giggles.
"Any interesting dreams?"
Mizumi smiles and nods. "I was having a dream where I met some older men and we became friends. We sat around for hours, swearing like sailors and singing sea shanties. They told me stories of people they knew who had lost their lives at sea and the legends of things you would only hear about in a storybook. It turns out these older men were actual pirates back in the day, but had traded everything for a simple life. I had never felt more at home and I was very upset when I had to leave them and go to work," she babbles happily. "What about you? Did you sleep well too?"
Shinso fakes a smile, not wanting to tell her about the recurring nightmares he has been having about losing her. His unnecessary jealousy has been haunting his dreams, but he can't let go of it. "I slept fine. But why did your alarm go off so early? We don't have school today."
Mizumi smiles as she nuzzles his chest affectionately. "I promised Fumikage I would help him with some extra training since we can't work right now."
Shinso clutches her closer to himself as he fights the urge to go pick a fight with the bird who has seen more of Mizumi than either of her boyfriends.
Fumikage. She's on a first name basis with him now?
"Unless you had plans for today," Mizumi continues, her voice snapping Shinso from his dark thoughts. "Did you have something in mind for today? I can always train later."
"Yeah," Shinso lies. "I was going to take you out for the day and spoil you rotten." In truth, he has some of his own stuff going on today, but keeping his girl away from anyone else is the priority now.
Mizumi squeals happily. "Really? Just you and me all day? But what about Denki?"
"Denki gets his turn with you tomorrow. Right now, you don't have to be anything but my Kitty."
"Okay!" Mizumi says happily, not caring that he is being overly possessive at the moment. They get up and get dressed for the day, then head downstairs for breakfast with Mizumi's classmates. When she's not paying attention, Shinso shoots Tokoyami another dirty look as he approaches them.
"Good morning, Siren. I look forward to our training session later today," Tokoyami greets his friend.
"Oh, I'm sorry, Fumi. Toshi already had plans for me today. We can train tomorrow, if you want. Is that okay?" Mizumi says, rubbing the back of her neck with a guilty smile.
"Oh. Well, I suppose that's fine," Tokoyami says, slightly disappointed but understanding.
"Thanks for understanding. You know my boys and their obsession with me~" Mizumi giggles as she playfully ruffles Shinso's messy hair.
"Of course," Tokoyami says. "I hope you have fun today, Siren."
Shinso can't take it any longer. Despite Mizumi's obvious loyalty to him, he doesn't like how casually Tokoyami says her first name. "That's Mizumi to you, damn it. Don't use her first name so casually. She's not yours..." Shinso growls, pulling Mizumi closer.
"Toshi, it's okay. I want people to use my first name. You know I don't really care for all those formalities, especially with my closest friends," Mizumi says, trying to calm her boyfriend down.
"No, it's not. I don't like other guys getting too close to you. You're mine..." Shinso scowls.
"My sincerest apologies, Shinso. I didn't realize that it was a problem. But you should know that I would never get in the way of your relationship," Tokoyami explains calmly. "Siren- I mean, Mizumi and I are just friends. I assure you that you have nothing to be worried about."
"Yeah, Toshi. I'm your Kitty, okay? Please calm down, you're kinda scaring me right now..." Mizumi says quietly.
"Don't tell me to calm down. I'll calm down as soon as I have you alone and away from him," Shinso growls, accidentally taking his frustration and jealousy out on his girlfriend before turning back to Tokoyami. "And as for you, I strongly suggest you stay away from my Kitty as much as possible..."
