Kabanata 4
"You don't know how to stop men from flirting with you, thinking you'll break their hearts," Miles said bluntly. "They mistake your friendliness for toying-little do they know, that's just who you are. Acting tough, but you're too friendly, naïve sometimes!"
I grimaced at his remark. Napaayos ako ng tali ng face mask, touching it to make sure that it is still there. I held my luggage tighter as we make our way to the transfer area. We have a layover to Singapore from South Korea.
We have no choice but to fly with Singapore Airlines which always have layover in Singapore. I'm not complaining, this is one of the best airlines and one of my favorites.
"Shut up, Miles," all I could say. He's right. I can't think of this for now. Because I am currently having a headache. I felt so heavy right now. I already took some medicine, and I am hoping na hindi na 'tong tumuloy.
Maybe, if we meet again? Damn, I am unfair. Alright, I'll message him once I get better.
Or just before the plane takes off.
I make a mental note to myself.
"Kapag 'yan sumunod sa'yo sa Manila, naku talaga. He's so smitten. Cut him off-" I raised a palm.
"Oo na," I muttered then coughed.
"You good," pag-alala naman ni Miles. He came near to me and pat my back.
Tumango ako.
"I promise. Sa lounge or bago tayo lumipad, I'll send a message," I assured him.
We stopped at the transfer gate. It's just a couple of minutes then we're good to go to the SATS Premier Lounge.
I've been to many airports, but I really like the one in Singapore. I don't know why but I like watching it.
"Are you sick-" I felt Miles on my forehead. "Girl, may sinat ka!"
"I'm okay, don't worry. Nabigla lang siguro ang katawan ko." My breath is staggered. "Kaya ko pa naman. Let's go na lang sa lounge. I'll sleep na lang while waiting."
Hindi na nagsalita si Miles. He snatched the luggage I am currently gripping. We took an elevator going to the lounge. Miles did the work to present our boarding passes and passports to the staff of the lounge. While he is talking to the staff, my phone pinged.
Choi Lee:
Let's do it again, Jameica.
Did you arrive in Manila?
I pressed the back of my wrist to my eyes, forgetting the phone. I shrieked and almost screamed as my phone hit the floor. "Oh, my god," I stammered.
"What happened?" Worry was tied to Miles' voice.
Before I could get it, a hand-a male hand already grabbed it. I looked up, and my forehead suddenly furrowed as I recognized the familiar face I had seen recently. I blinked multiple times.
