Part Three

-Oliver-

"Oliver I think I'm going to head up to Verdant and stock up a little early okay.? Oliver.?" My mind, thoughts and capability to speak disappeared once I returned home. Holding my tongue for as long as I have the slightest irrational subject that Thea brought up annoyed me to no end. I'm sure I looked stiff and lost starring off at my wall like that, but turning towards her I knew it was better to zone out on her for now until I got used to the new Thea. She was definitely not the little girl I left behind, short cropped chestnut brown curls hanging low on her shoulders to frame her face, thin matured figure, and wide sarcastic smile.

She was worst than Mom.

"Verdant.? This early on in the day.?" Turning to look at the clock I narrowed my eyes watching the clock strike up to 5:30. My club was mostly her's now and didn't open until 10. But tonight I'd bite and let this one slide as a joke.

"You mean open up early for you boyfriend Roy.?" I hadn't been home no more than a month now and not only could everyone not forget about the same old headlines and stop playing them but my sister managed to find a new boyfriend.

"Well your always disappearing like a bat out of hell all night long." She argued smacking me on my arm. Tensing I dug my thumb nail into the stiches just below my torso beneath my shirt.

"Thea don't hit your brother, he must be tramatized enough without you having to hit him anymore tonight. You'll be present for the grand opening of Verdant tonight right Oliver.?" Looking at her swiftly I cut my eyes at Thea, anger boiling beneath my skin.

"Mom! I said don't tell him." Thea barked elbowing Our Mother in her side roughly.

"Tell me what Thea.?" I ground out, cracking my knuckles with my thumb one by one, enjoying each sickening pop as I waited.

"Ughhh. I invited like half of Central City out here to Starling City to help welcome you home and the opening of Verdant."

"Verdant has been open for almost a month already though." I countered trying to process her double meaning.

"Yeah but they haven't been introduced to the other half of it. I did it little by little so you wouldn't notice during your super duper busy schedule." Listening to the sarcasm in her voice I offered her a tight smile and patted her on the shoulder making my way from the room.

"Oh C'mon Ollie! It's just a little remodeling don't be so mad." Thea whined stomping behind her brother as he descended the staircase quickly.

"I'm not mad, I'm not mad Thea I just....I wish you'd consult me before remodeling half of the building, or recreating it for lack there of a better word." I sighed snatching my jacket off the back of our sofa.

"Oliver! Glad I ran into you when I did, we need to talk about re-emberssing you into the public eye." Turning on my heel to glance at Walter, shaking my head no.

"Everytime I step out that door it's a public event, I'd like some down time to myself." Making my towards the door again, I nearly chipped a tooth grinding my teeth together when my Mother yelled my name, followed by Thea rushing passed me.

She was trying to beat me to Verdant.

"That's another thing Oliver. I'd like to talk to you about." Giving her a tight lipped smile I waited for her answer, meanwhile listening to the tires of Thea's car screeching down the street.

"I'd like to have a bodyguard follow your every footstep in and out this house for saftey." Opening my mouth to speak, I paused when she covered my mouth.
