My eyes widened as I stepped outside the protection of the stables, a cold chill rushing past Night and I.
My name is Abbie Bunnywater. I am new to the mystical island of Jorvik, excited for what things I can experience.
Justin has already shown me my horse Nightdreamer, and we get along okay..
Horses and riders whipped passed me, their hooves thundering against the pavement.
Night shifted slightly under the saddle.
"Night," I hissed, "stay still."
The horse nickered as a response and stomped its hoof stubbornly. I glared at the animal. I thought the Jorvik Warmbloods were supposed to be friendly and easy going... oh well.
I was instructed to go to the Bobcat Girls area, yet I have no idea where it is. Without really thinking, I stepped out of the stable entirely and shuddered from the cold.
I turned right and guessed that it was correct, but ended up finding myself at a huge fenced in area, with streamers hanging from the pole that stood in the middle. I noticed a screen showing a symbol I couldn't quite make out from where I was stood.
I nervously brought Night to a trot and made my way over to the woman standing on a box.
"Hello, ma'am," I stammered. "Where might I be exactly? You see, I'm new and-"
"Oh no worries," she cut me off revealing her thick Australian accent. "This is the Moorland Championship Arena, where champs are held for riders looking to compete." I nodded in understanding.
"Where exactly is the Bobcat Girls practicing corral?"
She smiled. "Take a right at this exit here, go straight until the path curves to the left and you should find yourself at Tan and Loretta, or go through the stable area and exit near the shops."
I nodded and smiled gratefully. "Thank you so much."
I directed Night towards the exit, but he tugged on the reins almost ramming us into the side.
"Night!" I scolded.

I walked up to a blonde chewing gum atop her horse looking bored as ever.
"Hello, are you Loretta?" I asked softly. She eyed me curiously.
"Yeah. And you are...?" She snapped rudely.
I furrowed my eyebrows. "I'm Abbie and I'm supposed to be trying out the training arena. I was directed by Jenna."
She rolled her eyes, "Whatever,
when you hear the whistle, start."I walked up to the starting area and whispered to Night, "Come on, boy. I know we haven't got along the best but I need you to do this for me." I nodded at Tan telling her I was ready.
A shrill sound filled my ears as Night instinctively bolted forward. I reviewed the basics in my head and made a sharp turn, knowing to slow to almost a canter before continuing. Night turned beautifully, and I whispered a praise as we continued towards the end.

I smiled to myself as we walked up to Loretta. I noticed the shocked look on her face but she quickly tried to hide it.
"That was really good! Erm.. For a starter, at least." She rubbed the back of her neck. I grinned proudly and mentally congratulated Nightdreamer.
I guess this won't be so bad after all.
