Laura's POV

I couldn't sleep that night. I kept thinking about Ross. His eyes, his smile, everything about him was perfect. I heard a strange sound. Someone or something was tapping on the window next to my bed. I slightly opened the drapes. The corners of my mouth twisted up into a smile. It was Ross. I opened the window and he came in as silent as a mouse.

"What's wrong?" he whispered.

"What?"

"You look like you've been crying. What's wrong?"

"Nothing now that you're here."

I hugged him. I didn't want to move from that spot. He hugged me back and made me feel safe and secure again. I wished that time would just stop so that I'd never have to let go. His body was warm. My eyelids suddenly felt heavy. I was starting to fall asleep in his arms. I tried to stay awake and failed.

Ross's POV

Laura fell asleep in my arms. I layed her down in her bed and pulled the comforter over her so she wouldn't be cold. She's so adorable when she's sleeping, I thought. I held her hand and watched as she slept. I was happy. I loved her and she loved me. She looked absolutely adorable all nuzzled up in bed. I kissed her forehead and she started to slowly open her eyes. She looked up at me.

"I love you," she whispered.

"I love you to."

"Please stay here tonight."

"Don't worry. I'm not going anywhere."

"Thank you."

"You're welcome."

I smiled at her. She smiled back and held my hand in both of hers. She sat up and opened her arms waiting for a hug. I hugged her and sang quietly to her until she fell asleep again.
