Lindy led me to the dining halle, and I could tell that a bunch of the students there were going to the party. They were jittery and excited, the girls clinging to their boyfriends and not eating or drinking a lot. She pulled me to a table near the windows.
"We always sit here." She informed me. "Guys, this is Ace. Aka, A. She's my new roommate. She turned to me. "A, this is Emily, and this is Blake." They both smiled and waved a hand.
"Hey." I smiled and sat down next to Blake, while Lindy sat down with Em. There was a pot of potatoes and a bowl of salad on the table, as well as desert, chicken, and french fries. I ate a few fries with honeymustare on my chicken wing, and finished it off with cesar salad and a glass of punch. The food was actually better than I'd expected.
"So are you coming to the party tonight?" Emily asked me.
"Yeah. Do you usually go?" She nodded. "What're they like?"
"Lots of beer, lots of drinking, and some games around a bonfire." She shrugged.
"Sounds like fun." I said, pushing my plate away.
"It's okay, but the the suckish part is that there's no musci. Since were only, like, a mile and a half away we can't play it. Parties that aren't supervised are illegal, and besides, they'd hear it and we'd all get in a lot of trouble." Blake told me. I looked around the dining hall and saw the 'popular' table.
"Is that Logan?" I asked. "Damn!"
"I know, right? He's hot, huh?" Lindy smiled, elbowing me in the ribs.
"Hells yeah!" Emily and I both said.
"So has anoyone shown you around yet?" Blake asked.
"No, someons supossed to do it after dinner, then I'll run out to the party with Lindy." I told him, noding, taking another sip of punch.
"Hey, Lindy, do you know where Ace Lance is?" I froze. I looked over at mily and mouthed a quick question. 'Logan?' she nodded. I turned around and smiled.
"That' me." I said. He was even better looking in person.
"I'm supossed to show you around." He said. "Are you ready?"
"Yeah." I stood up, looking down at Lindy for help. She gave me a sly smile.
"You can meet me at the party." She said. "Can you take her so I can go ahead out with Mike?" Mike must be the guy she's had her eye on.
"Yeah, that's fine. I'll send him on over." He smiled. "Let's go." He turned to me, still smiling.
"How long have you been coming here?" I asked him.
"To Rosewood? Ever since eighth grade." He said, turning left from the dining hall.
"Wow." I pushed my hands into my jacket pockets.
"Yeah. Well, the school isn't actually that bad. It just takes some getting used to. As for the campus, it's not that bad either after you go through all your classes a few times." He led me into a large building. "This is the library. It's, like, three stories tall, and has a bunch of study rooms off to the sides. The study groups and club meetings are always in the very back." He pointed out a group of students with really nasal, loud voices messing around on their computers.
"Is this school really that devided up?" I asked, noticing a group making fun of the computer freaks. "You have the popular ass holes in one section making fun of the nerds, the grrks, and the normals in one corner, and the other groups doing all in their power to avoid Miley's group." He looked at me, an odd expression on his face. "Oh my god, sorry!" I apolojized. "I forgot, she's your girlfriend."
