The morning sun filtered softly through the windows of their farmhouse kitchen, casting warm golden hues on the rustic wooden cabinets and cozy decor. The faint smell of freshly brewed coffee mingled with the aroma of sizzling eggs as Khaotung stood by the stove, humming lightly to himself. His hair was still slightly damp from the shared shower, sticking to his forehead as he flipped the omelet with practiced ease.

Across the room, First crouched near the bowls lined up for their furry companions. Their cats-two mischievous ones, named Montow and Vaanjay-circled his legs impatiently, while their loyal dog, Tinn, wagged his tail excitedly, waiting for breakfast. First chuckled, shaking his head at the eager creatures.

"Alright, alright, you hungry little monsters," First teased, setting the bowls down carefully. The animals immediately dove into their food, eliciting a warm laugh from him. Turning toward Khaotung, First said, "Do you think they'd survive a day without us? Tinn might, but the cats would probably riot."

Khaotung smirked, glancing over his shoulder. "You underestimate them. They'd take over the farmhouse if we left for too long."

After the animals were settled, First joined Khaotung in the kitchen, grabbing the plates and setting the table in their small dining nook by the window. The table was quaint, adorned with a simple linen cloth and a vase of fresh wildflowers Khaotung had picked a few days ago. It was their favorite spot to enjoy meals together, offering a picturesque view of the farm's open fields.

They sat across from each other, plates filled with eggs, toast, and fresh fruit. Khaotung poured them both glasses of orange juice, handing one to First with a soft smile. "So, today, we need to stock up on a lot of groceries," Khaotung began, breaking the comfortable silence.

First raised a brow. "Groceries? You mean a whole list of stuff I'll probably forget because you know how I am with shopping lists?"

Khaotung laughed, shaking his head. "I'll send you the list. But honestly, I don't really feel like going to the city today. Would you mind going on your own?"

First's playful demeanor immediately shifted to concern. He put his fork down and leaned across the table, reaching out to place the back of his hand on Khaotung's forehead. "Are you feeling okay? You're not sick, are you?"

Khaotung's eyes softened at the gesture, though he quickly brushed First's hand away with a grin. "I'm fine, Fir. Really. I just-" He paused, searching for an excuse. "I've got a lot of chores to catch up on here. Plus, the animals need someone to keep an eye on them."

First still looked skeptical, his brows furrowed as he studied Khaotung's face for any sign of discomfort. "If you're sure..."

"I'm sure," Khaotung reassured him, reaching for his phone. "I'll send you the list, okay? Just bring everything back, and I'll handle the rest."

First sighed, still a bit hesitant but eventually nodded. "Alright. But if you need anything, call me, okay? No heroics while I'm gone."

Khaotung smiled, his heart swelling with affection. "I promise."

They finished breakfast with light chatter before First grabbed his keys, kissed Khaotung goodbye, and left for the city.

As soon as the sound of First's truck disappeared down the gravel road, Khaotung sprang into action. Grabbing his phone, he dialed quickly. "Neo? Where are you guys?"

Neo's voice came through the speaker, slightly muffled by what sounded like rustling paper. "Almost done. Just picking up a few more things. We'll be there soon."

"Good. First just left, so we don't have much time. Hurry," Khaotung urged before ending the call. He turned to the cats lounging lazily on the couch and pointed at them with a grin. "Alright, Montow, Vaanjoy-let's get to work."
