Life had been good the past few days. I woke up and went to school. Came back and did my homework. Then walked to the society gate to wait for Mnemon. After he arrived, we walked to the Academy together, me talking about my day at school. The same when we came back.
Overall I was happy. Mnemon and I had become really close over the days, he smiled and talked more often too.
On the weekends we would meet under the Banyan tree in the corner of the society park and play together. I even asked him to come to my birthday celebration. Sadly, he fell sick a few days before that and couldn't come.
Melody had been asking me about him a lot too, since she had never seen him. She would sit calmly as I braided her long, wavy, black hair. Talking to me as I worked. I would tell her no every time she asked to meet him. Mnemon had been very clear that he was too shy to meet my family yet. After being rejected again and again she would change the topic to her friends, telling me about this girl named Hazel she had been hanging out with. She'd tell me about how good Hazel was at Badminton and would always beat her whenever they had a match. I could see that she really liked this Hazel person, her ocean blue eyes would sparkle as she talked about Hazel's soft and kind attitude.
Even Aaron came out of his den a.k.a. his room, to play sometimes. He made a few friend around the society too. They would play cricket in the evening. Melody and I had a pretty good view from the balcony of our apartment and we would watch. Commenting here and there.
All in all, we siblings had adjusted really well.
Life was good.
