Matt and I left the café in better spirits then when we came in. We walked around the sleepy town, just talking and having a good time. I was in the middle of laughing, when I see a house on the side of the road.
"Hey Matt, let's check that house out." I tell him, pointing to it. It was wood, or at least some of it was. It was in really bad condition, with shattered windows, and moldy wood. There wasn't even a door. A shiver goes down my spine. The house was eerie looking, especially with the light snow that started to drift down from the sky.
I was walking up to the porch, when I notice Matt wasn't beside me. I look back. He was still on the driveway.
"Hey, you okay?" I ask the skinny man. He shakes his head, and nods.
"Yeah, yeah. Sorry aboot that." He says, Canadian accent in his voice. I turn around, and walk back to him. I put my gloved hand on his shoulder.
"It's okay if you don't want to go in, we can always come back another time." I tell him. He slowly shakes his head, and turns to meet my eyes, forcing a smile on his face.
"N-no, we can go in. I-It's fine." He says, the hesitation clear in his nervous voice. I frown, but decide to dismiss it for now.
"If you say so." I respond, and boldly walk up to the house. I stop when I get to the door. Matt walks up next to me. I take his hand, nervous myself.
"Ready?" I ask.
"Ready." Matt confirms.
We step inside, and I can't believe how much in disrepair this house in in. The wallpaper on the walls were peeling, so you could see the plaster underneath it. The windows were either dirty, or broken, and the staircase only had one full stair, the rest were broken. It was a small house, not much down stairs beside a broken toilet, so I decide to go upstairs.
I take a tentative step on the stairwell, and was relieved it didn't break under my weight. I was halfway on the stairs, with Matt following closely behind me, despite his pleas for him to go first, when I step on a stair, and it collapses beneath me.
I let out a shrill scream, as my lower half gets stuck in the stairwell.
"(y/n)!!" Matt yells out behind me. He runs to me, and pulls me out of my sudden entrapment.
"Are you alright!? Is anything broken?" He asks, worry clear in his violet eyes. I nod, thankful for his help.
"Yeah, I'm okay, but I have a splinter in my pinky." I whine out. Matt sighs in relief, and chuckles at my injured pinky.
"I think we should head home." He suggests. I pout. I wish we could've spent more time here. But, he was right.
"Can we come back to this place tomorrow?" I ask, dusting off my clothing. He nods.
"Of course. Only on one condition." He says. I look at him, confused on what his 'condition' is.
"That you will go out with me."
My (e/c) eyes widen in shock. Go out with him!? I smile, and hug him.
"Sure thing, Matt." I say, lightly squeezing him as I hug him. He smiles, and hugs me back.
"Let's get out of this place. It's starting to creep me out." Matt says. I laugh. I can't help but think something big is going to happen soon.
A/N: If you guys haven't heard of the Hetalia Theory, you should check it out. In the Theory, it says that all of the countries had a past life, and they all died prematurely. For Canada's, he was abandoned as a child, and the house that reader-chan went to in this chapter was where he died. So yeah, kinda symbolic there. And something big will happen, trust me! Welp, bysies!! See ya next chapter!!!
