Lianna Scamander wasn't sure how to feel about the prospect of liking Harry Potter

Lianna Scamander wasn't sure how to feel about the prospect of liking Harry Potter. She'd never liked anyone in a romantic way before, and she'd barely known someone well enough to think about doing so (other than Noah, but their relationship was Platonic).

They had been so close to kissing — something Lianna had never actually done — before Noah had interrupted them. Clearly, there was something there. She enjoyed his company and she could tell he enjoyed hers.

Things had gotten worse with Umbridge, who'd been interrogating teachers. Lianna was sat in her second detention of the week with Umbridge, her hand never having time to recover despite the paste she kept applying to it. It started just like always, doing lines over and over again.

She hated it and it made it worse that there wasn't anything she could do. It wasn't like missing homework or arguing with her.

"I do hope you'll stop sleeping in my lessons," said Umbridge as Lianna put the Quill down.

"I can't, Professor," Lianna whispered. "I'm a seer, it's—"

"Being a half-breed does not excuse you, Miss Scamander," said Umbridge in a high-pitched tone.

"Seers aren't half-breeds Professor," Lianna pointed out quietly.

"Watch your tone, Miss Scamander," Umbridge warned. "Or I shall put you back in detention tomorrow night too."

"I'm not a half-breed," Lianna whispered, as though assuring herself.

Lianna's lip quivered as Umbridge put a hand on her chin and forced Lianna to look at her; they made eye contact, and the crazed look made Lianna want to throw up in her mouth.

"Seers are only liars, Miss Scamander. You make up lies in your head, convinced they are real," said Umbridge lowly. "Admit it."

"No."

Lianna flinched in pain as Umbridge dug her nails into her cheek, her hand still holding her chin while her other gripped her wrist in anger. It was a power play, Lianna knew that, and the woman was truly delusional if she believed seers were half-breeds. Even if they were, she still had no right to call Lianna one.

"Detention for the rest of the week, Miss Scamander," said Umbridge in a fakely sweet voice. "You may go."

As the blonde stumbled to collect her bag, she let out a small sob before throwing open the door. It was more frustration than anything, along with the fact Lianna had never been used to feeling so...threatened before. Umbridge could do anything to her and no one would know; she wouldn't put it past the women to cast crucio on her.
