Phoebe tilted her head to the side slightly, eyes narrowing in on the paper before her as her tongue went to the side of her cheek in concentration, subconsciously tapping her foot along to the rhythm of the rock music blaring out of the speakers.
She had tried to make her eldest brother turn it down, seeing as Sam was finally sleeping for the first time since the motel room before dropping him off back at Stanford, but Dean had waved her off with a roll of his eyes. Thankfully, their middle sibling hadn't roused from his slumber by the thumping beat.
The bridge the girl was tracing in her notepad, she realized, was eerily similar to the one that the three of them had been on during their hunt for the woman in white. She honestly hadn't even realized that the specific location was what she had been sketching until she paused to truly look at it.
Because her head was feeling better since the concussion, the young girl was thrilled to finally be able to sketch again without a major headache splitting through her drawing time.
Sudden movement from the front seat had Phoebe's eyes snapping upwards at the same time Dean's flew to the side, just in time to see Sam's eyes shoot open as he jumped up from his sleep.
The brunette girl pressed her lips into a thin line, having not a single doubt that her older brother was having nightmares about Jessica- who she had come to learn to be the girl that Sam was in love with and wanting to get back to college for.
After that night, Phoebe had waited with bated breath for either one of her brothers to turn to her and announce that it was then time to drop her back off at that wretched boarding school.
Neither of them had, though- much to her immense relief- and instead seemed focused on continuing on the lead to finding their father. Sam seemingly throwing himself into it as a distraction, and Dean joining right along- seemingly keen on keeping him distracted.
So, while both of them had seemingly forgotten about bringing her back, Phoebe didn't allow herself to relax completely, knowing it was only a matter of time before they deemed her return there to be for the best.
"You okay?" Dean asked after a moment of silence in which Sam tried to collect himself. The elder one trained his eyes on the road and tried to sound as nonchalant as possible, though Phoebe could see right through the act straight to the deep sense of worry she knew he harbored.
Sam quickly cleared his throat, "Yeah, I'm fine."
Without necessarily meaning to, Phoebe let out a loud scoff from the back seat, causing Sam to turn around to her with his eyebrows pulled downwards.
Dean interrupted before the man could say anything though, "Another nightmare?"
He just cleared his throat once more in response, turning back in the seat to face out the windshield, ultimately deciding that snipping at his sister would just cause them to push the issue further.
"Want to drive for a while?" Dean offered, causing Phoebe's eyes to widen and jaw to go slack as she placed her notebook down on the leather seat beside her and pushed herself forwards, staring at her brother in pure shock.
Sam laughed, "In your whole life, you've never once asked me that."
"I'll drive!" Phoebe piped up, eyes alight with excitement as she practically bounced up and down in her seat.
The green eyed man turned with a small glare, pointing a finger at her, "No," Before facing forward again, "And I just thought you might want to, never mind."
A look of seriousness overcame the middle Winchester's features suddenly, "Look, man, you're worried about me. I get it, and thank you, but I'm perfectly okay."
