The following is the recorded conversation Matthew and an Officer James DeFranco had...

Officer: Hello Matthew. My name is James DeFranco. I am told you have a story you wanted to share. Do you mind if I hear it?

Matthew: He... He... Hello officer DeFranco. Yes, I witnessed something  weird last night on my way back home and I wanted to share it as it concerns me and I can't get it out of my head.

Officer: Alright Matthew, what did you see last night?

Matthew: Alright. Let's see, where do I start?
Okay, I should probably begin from a little bit before is saw what happened...

It was about 11:45 p.m. and I had just left the club I usually hangout with my friends at. I had drank just one or two beers and wasn't really drunk, but I decided I should go before it got too late. I wasn't with any friends that night so there wasn't much reason to stay there either, so after I paid the bartender I stood up and left from the front door to the street. It was dark outside but the neon light from the club sign saying "Night Fever" illuminated the front street, which helped me make my way to the main road. After walking for about ten minutes I was starting to feel a bit sleepy, so I decided to take a shortcut through the middle of some alleyways that should cut the rest of the walk, which would probably be another ten minutes, in half if not more. The way through the alleyways was dark, but I know the ways through there really well so I didn't mind it. So, on the next opening, I entered the alley without a second thought. Now that I think about it I should have probably given the place a better look, but I was too tiered to do so. As I entered the alley I noticed that I kept walking on a straight line for about three minutes without there being any turns in sight. I looked behind me but couldn't see anything either, so I decided to keep going straight thinking that it was my mind playing games since I was tiered. After another couple of minutes I started to barely see a very dim light in the distance, so I quickened my pace a little to get there as fast as possible. As I got closer the light started to become a little bit brighter until I finally reached it. The air, which was mild throughout the path, suddenly dropped to a shivering point. I quickly ran to what was emitting the light. It was a lamp hanging from the side of the wall. It looked really old and the light flickered every few seconds. I brought my hands near it as to try and get warmer, but to my surprise it actually made the cold worse. I moved my hands away from the lamp and soon right after that, a cold breeze of air hit me in straight in the face form the direction of the lamp. I placed my hand in front of my face as to block off the cold wind from hitting my face. Once I fell the air settle, I lowered my hand which was now freezing and placed it in my pocket. My eyes widen as I saw what was before me. Right next to the lamp was a staircase leading upward. I got closer to see if I could make out what was at the end. That was when it happened. A morbid feeling started running through my body, and from the top of the stairs I could hear a heavy and rough breathing followed by hissing sounds. Whatever was making that sound was slowly getting closer and closer. By the sound it made, I could assume it was dragging its feet. I quickly turned and was about to start running when I suddenly froze...

Officer: Matthew, what happened next?

Matthew: Ah yes, sorry. It was... the lamp...

Officer: The lamp?

Matthew: I don't know how to explain it, but it did. As soon as I laid my eyes on that thing I was instantly under its control. It spoke to me...

Officer: It spoke? What did it say Matthew?

Matthew: "Hello Matthew. I have something important I need to tell you. You are now mine. Your skin is mine. Your voice is mine. Your life is mine. I, from this day onward, am Matthew."

After that I heard the sound of something being sliced and I fell unconscious. I then woke up in my bed without any idea of how I got there.

Officer: Well then Matthew, how do you know it wasn't a dream. By how your story ended it is very possible it was all just a nightmare.

Matthew: I have this...

Officer: What the hell! That's an open wound! How did you get that cut?! Wait! What is this?! I can't move! Matthew wait! Don't come any closer!

Matthew: Hello James. I have something important to tell you...
