Your main character has some unavoidable disability, a severed limb in a past world without advanced technology, permanently blind or gradually growing blind due to an untreated disease, being deaf, permanently paralyzed legs. These are just a few possibilities. Your main character's love interest has some superhuman ability or inhuman genetics, such as magic (Harry Potter), a godly descended power (Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus), being able to travel through time (Doctor Who), exceptional fighting abilities (RWBY), and so on.
Even with this disability your character overcomes it and may even be better at fighting or magic or the common ability in her society. Take for example Toph from Avatar the Last Airbender (If you don't know her please bear with me I'll explain as best as I can). She is born blind in a community in the Earth kingdom, which has some people who can manipulate the earth called Earth Benders. There are other kingdoms whose citizens can bend the other three main elements (not all of them but it's pretty common). Toph is an Earth Bender and the daughter of a wealthy business man, as a result she is pampered and her existence is hidden from the rest of the world. She is treated as a fragile porcelain teapot for her entire life due to her disability. But what her parents don't know is that her disability makes her stronger. She can see by sensing vibrations through the earth and becomes one of the most powerful Earth Benders ever.
The goal is to have a disabled character who is not completely derailed by their disability and is able to function just as well-if not better- than most people, but their love interest is exceptional, resulting in an almost jealousy and possibly a doubting of self. The disability becomes their weakness instead of their strength because of this doubt and jealousy, leading in a possible deeper connection with the love interest when they overcome their doubt and jealousy.
There are no limits for this! But I want to challenge you all to write at least 1000 words, it's not mandatory but increasing the amount you write daily is always good. (-: This can be a short scene like a one-shot or an entire drawn out novel-like story! There is not limit!
This isn't meant to be a competition but I do plan on giving a shout out to those really good ones I find (if anyone actually enters XP).
Good luck to all and a merry writing time!! (These slogans aren't really working are they...)
