Shaadi

Snehtika

My hands shivered as I held them back to tie the thread of my blouse. "I'll do it for you sneha", I heard maa calling out. I smiled gently trying to process everything around me. After tying the blouse she turned me to herself holding the veil in her hand. A lone tear escape her eye shattering my heart in a million pieces. I hugged her and cried until I found a heart to look at her.

I scrunched my nose and said, no more tensions to wake me up in the morning or asking me to have my medicines on time. No more "sneha come back before 10 at night". She smiled, I could sense the emotions behind it. I tried to suppress those and had the veil pinned with my hairs.

For the last final check, I applied some blush and my vanilla body mist. The photographer entered asking me if he can take some pictures. I allowed him and sat down.

All my friends gathered in the room for the first look reveal. I saw bhai standing with all of them as he promised me to be there while I walk down the aisle. I turned back with the biggest smile on my face. Akriti saw me and started crying, I looked up and tried controlling my tears as I know I would have a bad headache if I cry much. Everyone moved aside giving bhai space to meet me.

He looked at me with awe, he proceeded forward and encircled notes from head to toe and kept it aside. I hugged him and tears made their way to my cheeks, I understood he was crying when a lone tear struck my shoulder. " your little one looks good, doesn't she"?. He hummed in silence and looked at me.

"bhai"?

"you look like the angel disguised from heaven who washes away all my sins just by smiling".

"eh" , I softly chuckled wrapped in his arms.

My father entered from the door and I just couldn't gather the courage to go and hug him knowing I would break down and would not be willing to leave.
I gathered the courage and went near the door. He tried to suppress the pain by smiling at me. "your little girl is someone's bride now". I smiled painfully and these words were it. It took all the things away, a tear escaped his eye and he embraced me. "I am soo thankful to god for giving me a goddess like you and avy, he knows how to take care of a goddess. He won't ever do bad to you".

I left his embrace knowing it's the last I would be this close to him sharing smiles and crazy actions. All my memories with him started to wrap around my head. All the silly fights I had while being his daughter to seeing him cry on my wedding day I held it all close to me.

Akriti held my hand and took me towards the corridor from where I could see the barat entering. Everyone dancing and I could just not take my eyes away from Avyansh. My groom. My husband. Argh.

It was time, bhai arrived at my room's door and asked me to go with him because it was time, time to walk down the aisle and meet my husband, my forever.

Before going, he hugged me and tried to calm me down. "whatever happens, I am here, I won't go anywhere sneha". He reassured me and I just smiled at him.

I heard everybody hooting and cheering while I walk down the aisle. There were slow rhythms of the live musicians sat near the Mandap. My eyes were stuck in avy's. Akriti was shocked as she wanted Avyansh to cry while I walk down the aisle but he stood there with a stoic expression looking at me.

He offered his hand while I get onto the stage, without caring about everyone present there. He embraced me tightly snuggling his face in my neck. I could feel the soft tears on my neck, I rubbed his back to calm him down.

"you just look like mine you know"? he muffled against my neck.

Avyansh

"you just look like mine, you know"?
I gently release my hold on her but not without interwining our palms. I adore her, her attire and her beautiful eyes. I could feel my eyes smoothening to moist.
