It was freezing at the mystery shack. Pacifica should've guessed that, though. She knew the place didn't have a very good heater. She should be thankful Dipper was letting her sleep in his sister's bed while she was gone, but it felt cold and lonely.

It reminded her of her room.

Of course, the feeling of cold at her mansion was more emotional than physical, and there was no friend a few feet away there. But even so she felt sad for a reason she didn't know.

She turned in Mabel's bed to stare at the ceiling. "Hey Dipper, you awake?" She said somewhat quietly.

"I am now." They turned over to look at eachother. "Something wrong?" He asked. She could barely make out his look of concern in the darkness.

"I can't sleep" She said simply. The blonde could've gone into much more detail than that. She knew exactly why she was still awake and what she wanted, she was just way to embarrassed to ever admit it.

"Are you not tired?" The boy asked, sounding surprised. "Because I am." The worried expression never left his face.

"I am, I just..." She trailed off "I'm cold."

"Do you need another blanket?" He asked her.

"You said you didn't have anymore earlier." She said, recalling coming back from being chased by something she didn't know the name of.

"You can use mine if you want." The boy started to pull the blanket off of him. "I really don't mind."

"Ohnononono, you don't need to do that. I appreciate the gesture, though" Pacifica smiled at him.

"Really, it's no big deal. I'm not even that cold." Pacifica could tell he was lying.

"Nope. Not gonna happen. I care too much. I'd rather freeze." She said with determination. Dipper made a forced gasp.

"Did you, Pacifica Elise Northwest, the most popular girl in all of Gravity Falls, say that you care about me?" there was silence and then a 'shut the hell up' muffled by a pillow Paz had thrown over her face in embarrassment. She knew he couldn't see the deep blush spreading upon her cheeks in the darkness, but she still wanted to curl up and disappear.

"You don't have to be embarrassed. I care about you too." The boy looked her in the eye when she moved the pillow. Her blush grew deeper as his own appeared. "As a-a friend...of course" He stammered out. The words hurt both of them deeply.

"Of course" Pacifica echoed. She turned to face the ceiling again. "Actually. No." she sighed. "I like you. As in I have a huge crush on you and when i said I was cold what I actually ment was 'I want to cuddle but I'm too embarrassed to say anything'"

There was a long silence that made Pacifica want to disappear even more. Then Dipper spoke.

"I um... Really?"

"No. Forget I said anything." She replied nervously.

"Oh, well" he said "what a shame. If you really did like me like that, I'd let you crawl into bed with me. But I mean, since you don't..." He was just teasing her now.

Pacifica let out a frustrated groan then pulled the blankets off and got out of Mabel's bed. The walk to his bed, which realistically was only a few feet, seemed to take hours.

Dipper welcomed her with open arms once she was standing beside his bed. She crawled under the covers and sighed in content as he pulled her closer.

"Anyone hears about this you're dead. Got it, Pines?"

"Got it, Princess."
