AUTHOR'S NOTE: Hello! Congrats on reading this far! I hope you'll stick with me. I LOVE FANS :) This is a short chapter and I'm really sorry for that. But this chapter basically gives the background for those to come, so it's gonna be (me...HAHAHAHAHA see what I did there?) short but necessary. The next few will be longer. This I Promise You (HAHAHAHAHA see what I did there AGAIN?! lol).

Subject: Group Meeting

Hey guys. Sooooo...we all remember, no one else does, we're going to have a group meeting, because obviously we're gonna have to do something to get the memories back. Meet at my house in a week. JC, bring some wine. Joey, bring food. Chris, Justin...don't bring anything yeah? -Lance

Everyone was gathered in Lance's living room. He had been excused from Dirty Pop for two months, which he felt was enough to get the memories back. Lance cleared his throat and began, and his ex-bandmates listened carefully, "You all got my email. We can't exactly initiate anything, because we'd get locked up in a loony bin for no reason, unlike the time we filmed 'I Drive Myself Crazy'. So we have to show that we're willing to fight for the memories and somehow we'll end up in a situation where we can fight for them. Sound good?" There were nods all around. "So the first step is to show that we are still a group, not to the world, not to anyone, actually. We have to feel it again."

"Like the NSYNC family?" Joey asked and Lance nodded. "Alright then! Bring out the food and drinks!" And just like old times on the No Strings Attached tour buses, Justin, Chris, Joey, Lance and JC began to eat, drink and have a good time together. They played random songs and did some impromptu dancing and more laughing. They played computer games with the intensity and concentration of years ago, friendly competitiveness oozing from every scene. By the end of the night, they were all full, drunk, content and flying high. Just for old times' sake, they all crashed on Lance's bed, wrapped around and tangled up with each other, like all those lonely nights in Germany.

The next morning, they all woke up around the same time, moaning, groaning and shoving each other away. Justin made a beeline to the pantry for cereal, Chris and Joey crawled to the sofa to watch TV and JC just went right back to sleep. Lance shook his head and walked into his bathroom and began his morning routine.

By 3pm JC was awake and everyone had eaten their lunch. They began talking about what they'd been doing since 2005 that the media hadn't picked up on. Lance was really surprised how much had gone on and how much they'd missed each other, but how their dynamics really hadn't changed. Chris, although older, was still as hyper and cunning. Joey, who was now much more of a family man, was still cheeky and adorable. JC, well he was still sleepy and totally cute to Lance. And Lance himself was now much more mature and in control, but deep down he was still the same Mississippi boy who stuck to one of them just so he'd get an acknowledgement from them that they knew he existed.

A week passed, them falling into a tour-like routine, minus the nightly clubbing, evening shows and afternoon interviews. It was just them, hanging out and being awesome and cool. They kept in contact with their family, other friends and business partners, but for the most part, it was just 5 guys having a good time together.

One afternoon, they decided to go to the movies. All 5 guys got dressed in jeans and t-shirts and were about to head out, when Lance's front door began to tremble. They all stumbled back - it couldn't be an earthquake, the rest of the house was fine! Then the door morphed into gray stone. Words appeared slowly, letter by letter.

"Feels terrible to be forgotten, doesn't it? It brought you back together and made you realise just how much you missed each other and need each other. But after 12 years, you don't expect the world to just take you back. You're going to have to go through alternate universes and solve problems there. When you have completed the challenges, you must each make a life-changing decision, which will cause the memories to either come back, or be lost forever. Good luck...you'll need it!" And 5 circles appeared beneath the text.

"How many challenges?" Justin whispered. Immediately, the text disappeared and a giant number 27 appeared, and 5 groans filled the room, in perfect harmony, of course. Then 8 words appeared quickly, "Just put your hands on the damn circles". Looking at each other and shrugging, Justin Timberlake, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone, Lance Bass and JC Chasez put their hands on the circles which would open up worlds they had never dreamed of, worlds which were all too familiar, worlds which would bring them joy, and worlds which would bring them suffering.
