It's early in the morning, and the church van is running late. Usually I wouldn't mind but today was my last day to see all my friends.

It was finally moving day. I've been dreading this day to come and now it's finally here. My whole family is moving to Texas. Of all places. Texas is where we get deployed to. I was born and raised in Columbus Georgia, so the idea of living anywhere else killed my insides.

Since it's my last day, I pick out my finest dress in my closet. I wore it for Easter, but I'm sure nobody remembers. Something's smells good in the kitchen, so I assume mommy is up.

"Morning sweetie," mommy's voice barely heard over the bacon in the pan. "LaShae, you need to iron," she finally looks up at me and walks over to fix whatever was wrong with my dress.

I love my mommy but sometimes she just nags too much.

The van finally shows and we were on our way. But I knew that the inevitable was soon to come after church.
