"Dad, I'll be fine. And no, I won't ask my roommate if they've ever- "
Jess's iPhone almost slipped out of her hand the moment she felt someone bump into her. The mysterious stranger ran away shouting "Alpha Campa rules!" Wearing only a tube sock on his privates and a bright green headband.
She rolled her eyes, switching the phone to her other hand as the frat boy continued to echo aggravating chants throughout the halls, all while fixing the beanie she plopped on her head that read "NYU". Jess wasn't exactly used to the New York weather, being from Southern Nevada where the weather during the fall is equivalent to the summer.
"Don't ask," she warned her father, placing her free hand on her head trying to forget the image.
Jess somehow knew this was going to be the conversation that she would have with her father. Which she understood. She didn't know how a single father felt, but she had an idea. Especially since her father would actually have a shotgun handy if he saw her with any boys. Not like she plans on having plans and multiple dates with boys. Sure, Jess is pretty with pale eyes and a skinny body, but she was different. Unlike her best friend, who enjoyed social events and parties, she would rather be at home or writing a book.
"I'm just... worried."
"Dad. You're always worried. I'm 19; I'll be fine."
Her father sighed, ending with goodbyes and more annoying questions reminding her that college parties aren't worth going to and her reminding him that she is not a dumb bimbo that will get herself into situations like that, especially since she hasn't even been to a high school party let alone go to a college one.
Jess took a deep breath before unlocking the door to the room that would be be her new home for the next couple of years. The place where she would spend most time in, away from socialization and stupid frat boys. Where she would spend time writing in her journal in relax-
"Oh- oh my god. I don't, I can't- my eyes!" Jess screeched in horror after dropping her boxes seeing that there were not one but 2 unexpected guests in her new bed.
The couple scrambled back under the covers, showing close to no shame at what they had just done.
"Room-"
"613? Yup you've got the right one," the girl said with no shame.
Jess was disappointed to say the least, hoping that this was a mistake and her roommate wouldn't be the type to sleep with different guy 24/7, but now she had a feeling that's exactly what she got. She scratched the back of her head awkwardly, looking down at the ground confused of wait to do or say next. Or even look up for that matter.
"Are you just going to stand there or are you going to introduce yourself?" The boy next to her said in a flirty tone, the two still snuggled up next to each other like nothing had happened. As if there wasn't someone that walked into the room while they were "doing it".
"I'd rather just..-," before Jess could finish her sentence, she quickly slid out of the crack of the door to avoid further contact with the two. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, seeing that this is probably too much private spots to see in one day.
Or the most she's seen in her lifetime.
ok, you have two options Jess thought herself.
