Haerin stood outside the grand glass building, gripping the strap of her bag tightly. The golden plaque by the entrance gleamed under the soft afternoon sunlight—

Min & Associates.

This was it. The start of her internship, the place where she would be working under one of the top lawyers in Paris.

Taking a deep breath, she stepped inside. The air was cool, scented with polished wood and fresh paper, and the quiet murmur of conversations hummed in the background. She made her way to the reception, introducing herself. The receptionist gave her a polite nod before picking up the phone.

"Mr. Min? Your intern has arrived."

A pause.

Then, the woman glanced at Haerin. "Take the elevator to the top floor. His office is at the end of the hall."

Haerin swallowed, giving a small nod as she turned on her heels. The top floor. That meant he was important—not that she didn't already know that. Min Yoongi was one of the best lawyers in corporate law, known for his sharp mind, cutting arguments, and, as she'd heard from some students,

 an intimidating presence.

When she reached the top floor, she hesitated for a moment before knocking on the heavy wooden door.

"Come in."

The voice was deep, steady.

Haerin pushed the door open, stepping inside. The office was sleek and modern, a wall of bookshelves behind a dark wooden desk, with a massive window overlooking the Paris skyline. The man sitting behind the desk barely glanced up from the papers he was flipping through.

He looked exactly like the pictures she had seen. Dark eyes, sharp features, and an expression that carried a natural nonchalance, as if everything in the world barely fazed him.

"You're Haerin, I assume?" Yoongi finally looked up, his gaze settling on her with quiet scrutiny.

"Yes," she answered, straightening her posture. "Haerin Kim, your new intern."

Yoongi leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms. "You're a law student at Panthéon-Assas University?"

"Yes."

He hummed, studying her for a moment before standing up and walking toward the bookshelf. "I read your application. Your grades are good, your recommendations are solid." He pulled out a case file and handed it to her. "But good grades don't impress me. I need to see how you work."

Haerin took the file, flipping through the pages. It was a case summary—complicated, dense with legal jargon.

"You have two days to prepare a report on this," Yoongi said, returning to his desk. "Concise, accurate, and with a clear argument. If it's good, you'll move on to more important things. If not, you'll be stuck with paperwork for the rest of your internship."
