My Stolen Heart

At first my heart was unavailable for you. Thick walls locking it in so you wouldn't lay your hands on it.

Some day my walls started to break. Slowly. Unnoticed.

Suddenly, I was sitting in your jacket. Hugging me and keeping me warm,  my heart started to warm up, too.

You reached out to help me climb down a rock and you reached further than you'd think, touching something inside I wanted to keep to myself. When I fell you picked me up and I'd realized you got me.

Slwoly but surely, you wrapped each finger around my heart and took it. And you didn't even notice.

It happened even though I didn't wanted it to happen. I didn't wanted to get disappointed again. Falling down again. Not good enough yet again.

You stopped paying attention to me. You stopped talking to me. But for me it was already too late. I already liked you. Much.

Every oh so little conversation I had with you burned into my memory. Every oh so little touch making my heart skip a beat.

Delusion over delusion, making me believe I actually have a chance. A chance with you.

But in the end, it's never me.

Ruomors turn into truths and you gave your heart to somebody else, leaving mine on the ground.

The cracks barely healed but now it's completely shattered again. A million pieces I have to put back together.

You stole my heart just to leave it.

And you didn't even notice.
