Thank You, "Lemon", For Becoming A Member On My Pa'treon. The Emperor Protect.
-----------
Inside the checkpoint leading to the Heavy Containment Area, Vale coughed violently twice, feeling some pain in his internal organs.
"Brit, swipe your card to open the door," he said, knowing he was running out of time. He twisted his neck and made a clicking sound, then grinned. "Quick, while I still have some strength to kill some things if I can."
Brit showed an expression of embarrassment, but he also knew that this was an opportunity Vale had won for everyone. He took a deep breath and stretched out his hand first. "Come on."
Vale put his hand on it without hesitation, followed by the other three.
The palms of five people stacked together, and their voices sounded at the same time: "Oorah-!"
At the same time, in their stream chat, countless similar messages were flying over: "Oorah-!"
After hyping up, Brit took out his key cards and went to the metal door. With just a swipe...
Beep-!
The metal door next to it opened.
The group tightened their hold on their items and stepped through the metal door. After entering, as far as the eye could see, it was still a hall, and there was another door not far ahead. There was no doubt that by opening that door, one had truly entered the Heavy Containment Area.
The Heavy Containment Area must be more dangerous than the Light Containment Area, as there would be scarier entities. But their team was different; they had all kinds of items. As long as they were careful, they should be fine.
The five stood in the hall for two seconds. Brit was about to leave when Plumbella, next to him, suddenly said in surprise, "Look, everyone! There's a little bear over there!"
When Plumbella's voice fell, the others were instantly shocked. After experiencing the devastation of the "Ear Bear" and the "Metal-Bear," when everyone heard the word "bear" now, they unconsciously started to get nervous and panic.
"F*ck, where is it???"
"There are bears here?"
"I'm going to... wait, what?"
Several people panicked and looked in the direction Plumbella was pointing, but when they saw the little bear, their faces couldn't help showing shock.
"Huh, what kind of bear is this?"
"Why do I feel that this thing looks a bit familiar..."
"It shouldn't be dangerous..."
What the group looked at was a room next to the checkpoint. The room was separated from the checkpoint hall by heavy glass. You didn't need to think about it to know that the glass was absolutely tough and probably bulletproof.
And in that room, on a table near the glass, a teddy bear was standing, looking at them. On the surface alone, this teddy bear didn't appear threatening and even looked friendly. However, the group, who had suffered a lot, couldn't easily trust anything that appeared friendly on the surface.
"I think it looks a little familiar..." Brit said softly, and after he frowned and thought hard for a while, his eyes suddenly lit up. "I got it, it's the 'Builder Bear'—the maker of the 'Ear Bear' and the 'Metal-Bear,' SCP-1048. Do you remember?"
Brit's reminder clicked, and they suddenly remembered.
"Damn, I remember now!"
"This little guy messed with us big time!"
"Ah, so it is. I didn't expect such a cute appearance to create such terrible things. Damn-!"
They shook their heads and sighed. The tension in their hearts silently eased a little because, according to the file they had read, the "Builder Bear" itself was not dangerous; only its creations were dangerous. Of course, since the creations were dangerous, it was effectively dangerous itself.
"Hey, it is waving at us???" they were sighing when Vale suddenly spoke.
Everyone saw the cute little teddy bear gently waving at the five of them through the thick glass. That appearance was so friendly.
Seeing this, Kiwo and Plumbella quickly waved back at the little teddy bear. Girls are naturally inclined to love cute things.
"It seems to have some intelligence. But don't forget about its creations; let's not be fooled by its appearances," Brit shook his head with emotion.
Vale and RT nodded in agreement. Kiwo and Plumbella sighed too, knowing Brit was right. No matter how cute its appearance was, it couldn't hide its horrifying nature.
"Okay, let's move. Now that the 'Builder Bear' has appeared, we need to stay alert for its creations nearby." Brit waved his hand.
The group then walked toward the metal door ahead. This metal door didn't need a card; after pressing the button, the metal door opened automatically. Brit glanced at the navigator first, confirming it was safe, then opened the metal door.
The metal door opened, and as far as the eye could see, it was a dark steel corridor. Pipes clung tightly to both sides of the aisle. The pipes appeared to have been damaged, spewing thin streams of black smoke. To the right of the walkway was a concrete wall, and on the left side of the aisle was dark and empty, its depth unknown.
"Put on your gas masks, everyone!" Brit reminded them and then put on his gas mask. No one knew if the black smoke was dangerous, but better safe than sorry.
The others put on their gas masks one after another, even Vale, who was usually resistant. After all, when there was an option, it was best not to take risks.
The group stepped onto the steel aisle. In the silent environment, there were only their footsteps and the sound of black smoke hissing. Unknowingly, the group grew tense again.
Soon, they reached the end, and at the end was another metal door. Brit glanced at the navigator again, pressed the button, and opened the metal door.
After entering, they saw a square hall. The steel walkway connected the two metal doors in the upper left corner of the hall.
On the left side of the steel aisle was a massive steel barrel of unknown purpose. Huge pipes connected the barrel's top and spread into the wall. Ahead was another small sealed room without a door, illuminated by a few wall lamps.
"This is the Heavy Containment Area, and danger could appear at any moment. Everyone, stay alert!" Brit reminded, and the others nodded seriously.
Then Brit led the way toward the two metal doors in the upper left corner. Next to one door was a sign:
[ Maintenance Room ]
But they couldn't enter, so the group had no choice but to go through the other door. After pressing the red button, the metal door opened, and the group entered in a single-file line. Inside was a circular passage, and another metal door loomed not far ahead. In the middle of the passage, another path extended to the right.
"We're entering a maze again." Brit smiled grimly as he led the way.
