I look up at the building in front of me. I hadn’t checked where or who I was room mating with, now I wish I had. In front of me was the SM building, and my taxi had just dropped me off, assuring me it was the address I had written down before getting on the plane. I take a deep breath, walking into the building dragging my small suitcase behind me.
“Excuse me, could you tell me where this room is?” I kindly ask the man behind the desk, holding out the paper with the address on it.
“Are you the new tenant?” He asks, verifying who I am before telling me how to find my room. I thank him and walk into the elevator. ‘I can’t believe I’m here!’ I think to myself, pushing the button that says ‘3’ in the elevator. The elevator stops and I walk out and down the hallway, looking for number ‘314’. I stop when I find it and stand for a moment, gathering my courage as I step forward and knock on the door.
