Melissa flipped through all of the different movies on one of the streaming services you use together, finding that not much of anything seemed to catch her eye.

You rested your head on her chest, your eyes just barely open due to exhaustion.

It's been a busy day and it's seeming to be catching up to you now as you struggle to keep your eyes open.

You put your hand over your mouth as yet another yawn escaped and Melissa looked at you before clicking on something random and setting the remote aside.

"It's okay, baby. You can go to sleep."

You shook your head, mumbling tiredly that you would be fine.

She didn't know why you were being so stubborn when it came to getting some sleep.

It was clear that your body was craving it with how many yawns you'd let out and how heavy your eyes looked.

"Even if it's just for a little while, you should try to get a little rest." She encouraged with a soft, quiet voice.

You shook your head but as she began to caress your cheek and hum one of your favorite songs in your ear, your eyes slipped shut and you knew you had no choice but to give in to the sleepiness overwhelming you.

"Stop." You whined although you both knew that the last thing you wanted was for her to stop what she was doing.

She shushed you softly and listened to your breathing as you started to drift off to sleep.

"I want to spend time with you." You sleepily said.

Melissa couldn't help but chuckle because she knew as much as you wanted that, there was no way you'd be able to open your eyes right now.

"We can spend time together later. Just sleep for now." She told you but you knew you had no other choice anyway.

Your body was demanding sleep and she was comforting you so much right now that going to sleep was all you could do.

Melissa quietly sang to you, every word leaving her lips in a whisper as you let yourself drift into dreamland.

Soon enough, you were fast asleep but Melissa was still doing all the things she'd been doing before falling asleep because even in your peaceful slumber, you were cracking a smile.

"There we go, my love. Get some sleep. I'll be right here when you open your eyes." She promised. "Sweet dreams. I love you so much."

And as she turned her attention to the TV, she smiled to herself as your breath tickled her skin.

It was nice to see you getting some well-deserved rest and Melissa would be sure to hold you in her arms the entire time.
