Under the moon, I have been waiting.
Under the pouring rain, I have been waiting. And with a box in my hands, I am going to wait. And that box contains a chocolate cake. I'm lucky what I wrapped the box in plastic so when it comes cases like this - raining - I can protect the cake.
I have been waiting for him, to come out. I'm standing outside of the SM entertainment building. It's Zack's birthday today, and I want to surprise him. I want to bring him some where romantic, have a picnic together. I've confirmed with him not to go anywhere after his training, which ends at 9.30pm. Now, it has been two whole hours, and he has yet to come out.
The door to the building is locked, like I need to have a certain pass to enter.
I have no choice, do I? I even brought him a gift, it's right in my waterproof bag pack. Everything is well protected while I'm here getting drenched.
Soon, I felt raindrops stopping. No, wait- it hasn't stop raining, I looked up to see myself being sheltered by an umbrella.
My eyes traced the umbrella to the owner of it to meet eyes a very, good looking guy.
His skin is tanned, beautiful and his smile showed kindness. His eyes picture concern as he looked at me.
I felt bad, while he was sheltering me, it was his turn to get wet.
"Excuse me, what are you doing here?" His eyes had difficulty looking at mine as the rain kept pouring on him ," it's raining!"
Without waiting for my answer, he used his free hand to grab hold of my shoulders and tug me to a nearby bar.
He pulled me inside the bar and got us to sit down. He closed the umbrella and placed it beside the box on the table. Then, he stares at me.
I just stare at him back, until I realized that he has been waiting for answer.
"Oh- I-I, um how do I say this-" I fidgeted and looked away as I think of what to say, "I'm waiting for a friend."
"Friend? Under the rain?"
"Um...yeah?" I was unsure myself, I haven't been treated more.
Though he knows that I'm lying - his expression showed that he wasn't convinced - he smiled it away.
"Okay, I'm Kim Jongin, by the way. You can just call me Kai", he sweetly introduced himself, his hand sticking out to shake mine.
And as I do so, I introduced myself.
"Wait a while, I'm going to get us drinks. My treat", and with that, he excused himself.
I took the moment alone to look around, a bit awed by the bar. It's giving me a comfortable aura, yet it's really energizing .
Until I saw him.
Zack.
His hands caressing a lady's.
My heart, it just somehow stopped.
I'm surprised I'm still breathing.
"Hey, are you there?"
I was startled by Kai waving his hands at me.
"I got us energy drinks is that okay with you?"he asked as he later the drinks on the table.
I turned my attention to him as I looked at him and I nodded. He took a seat in front of me and watched my blank expression.
Oh gosh, I'm breaking inside. I hope I don't explode with tears any soon.
However, I just can't contain it. I continued to look at the oblivious-to-my-presence Zack as he continued to show love for such a lady.
He didn't even treat me well. So those "I love you"s are lies, aren't they? The plans to move together are lies, so this is what he have been doing that caused him to not shower attention to me and treat me as he promised.
"Zack? You've been waiting for him?" Kai looked to and fro me and Zack, before he noticed my eyes brimming with tears.
"Are you okay?"
I wish I can answer, but I can't. I just continued to watch Zack.
Placing his lips to hers.
I gasped.
That's it. The tears just won't stop.
That caused Zack to notice my presence, as through my blurred vision I saw panic painted on his face.
Kai was shocked too, and when he saw Zack rushing towards me with blurred words that I can't seem to hear, he stood up and prevented Zack from coming any near.
"Wo-woah-woah", Kai was trying to push Zack away while I slowly stand up and went behind Kai.
"I can explain!"
I just shake my head as my body shakes from disappointment. Kai grabbed hold on my hand tightly. I needed someone to hold on to, so I returned the hold, causing him to take a glance at me.
I just looked down.
"I said I can explain!" Zack's voice raised a notch as his words became harsher.
I tugged Kai's hands towards me, hinting to me that I want to get out. He turned and pushed me gently but insistingly quick towards the exit as he followed behind.
As expected for someone who didn't care, I glanced and looked watch as Zack stared back at me while he gives up and stand in the bar, an apologetic face painted. The lady just trailed him and placed her dirty hands on his shoulders, causing him to turn his attention to her. I turned away and my grip on Kai's hands got tighter. My shoulder continued to shake as I started crying louder with an arm around my shoulder to assist me somewhere. Somehow the rain had stopped. I'm too hurt to even take back what I want to give him at the first place. Let him eat the cake I baked with her.
I know I'm such a crybaby, but who wouldn't cry when you see your lover cheating on you? I was so hurt. I just felt so weak.
I felt onwards that everything is such a huge lie that brings me false hope.
Kai stopped in front of a car and opened the back door," I'll bring you home."
"You've done too much-"
"The public bus service closed, are you trying to get a taxi? Get in, I do no harm", he comfortingly said, peeling the bag from my back and putting it inside the car before allowing me to get it then him.
"Are you sure?"
He just kept quiet as he started the engine.
"Thank you,Kai", I tried to maintain my voice. He caught my eyes at the rearview mirror before smiling assuringly, yet a part of him showed that he is sorry.
Then, he drives off.
