I waited as I head over to my seat, admiring my work of effort I have put to make this a special day more special.
Balloons are hung almost everywhere along the inner lightings of the room, and some scattered on the polished marble floor. Scented candles lit on the mini tables and on the nicely decorated dining table. I straightened my red laced dress before sitting down and pulled out my phone to check the notifications, whether this growing baby boy has replied or not.
Jimin: I'm reaching soon baby~ wait for meee ❤️
My lips curled naturally into a smile as I replied.
Me: take your time, birthday boy ...
But hurry up :')
I can't wait for him to be back. My nervousness caused my hands to grip my dress tightly, then I realized that I'd better adjust my hair so I will look decent.
As I do so, I hope that whatever I'm going to say to Jimin, he will take it seriously and accept me.
I have this idea of proposing to him.
This is really something big. I hope that we can be commited into a pair that is unbreakable.
My hand find its way to my pendant locked around my neck. I feel its engraved design as I closed my eyes.
I don't want to be engaged that quickly, I just want to let him know that I love him as how much I really want to have him as my soulmate. Let him be ready for it.
He's been here by my side during ups and downs, he basically knows everything about me. We watched each other grow since young and we never stopped talking about the most stupidest things.
Knock knock...!
Jimin must be here. I gritted my teeth as I nervously made my way to open the door, after taking a deep breath.
"Happy birthday baby, you're growing!"I greeted, and he was in awe as he slowly entered the room before fixing his eyes on me.
"You did this, all for me?"he couldn't believe I did it, causing me to laugh.
"Of course, silly. Now sit down and eat", I headed towards the table and opened the lid of the deep tray ( I don't know what it's called so please forgive me✌🏻️) to reveal a plate of delicious ramen.
I mean, he likes ramen.
"Wow, ramen, I thought it would be some classy food", he commented, earning a slight slap on the arm.
"I invented this ramen recipe, you'll be the first person to try it. So be grateful", I winked before getting on to my seat.
I took a wrapped box from the side of my chair and passed it on to him.
"Here, I got you something", I handed him the box before he could even touch the fork.
"Thank you! What's inside?"he asked, and of course, why would I spoil a
surprise?
"Open it when you get back to your dorm, I have something else to tell you", I started to clear my throat, and sit up straight as I devour the meal.
"Actually, me too", he stated silently.
"What is it?" I was super curious by then.
"No, you should go first", he said, but I was already dying to know.
"No, you should".
"Ladies first...!"
"No one comes before a birthday boy, ha!" I smiled in triumph, and Jimin started to get all awkward and shy-like.
"We've been for one another ever since we met in preschool. We went to the same school, same class almost every year. And as we grow we basically grew to know everything about one another", he was gentle with the way he speaks, his eyes shining as he stared at me.
I kept nodding to whatever he said, because it's true.
He's the only one aside from my family who knows me well.
"Well, I got you something", he said, before going on to take something out of this pocket.
I grew confused. It's his birthday, why did he get me something?
I just watched speechless as he took out a small velvet box, of which he carefully hold it in this hands.
He made the box face me as he opened it up.
There, positioned a diamond ring, with a heart engraved in it. Inside the heart, our ship name is also engraved.
It's not fancy looking like with so many tiny diamonds sticking out of it, but this ring is so familiar.
Because I got him the same.
"So...the thing is...",Jimin nervously started, but I held out my hand, signaling him to stop.
This time he got panicky as I took out what's from the pocket of my dress.
A velvet box.
I placed it to face him and opened it up, revealing a gold ring, with the same design that he got me.
Jimin became shocked, his disbelief taking over him. He admired the ring before looking back to me, his eyes bright.
I smiled at him, since we both have the same idea.
"Really?" He was still confused, but at the same time he was excited.
"Yeah, I want you mine too", I whispered, my attention locked onto his.
He walked over to me, causing me to stand up and head nearer to him.
Then we both wrapped our arms around each other and felt each other's warmth. We pulled out partially from the hug, to put our foreheads together, our nose touching.
And soon, our lips are also touching as we smiled.
