"doctor room 129 now he's having
a blackout!!" a nurse shouts across the hall. That's Gus' room. He's having another blackout or he passed out. I call my husband who's in a meeting. He could barely be excused from that meeting. Then the Genies call asking about Gus' wish. Gus kept telling them that he wanted to save the one wish for the one person that changed his life. Then a nurse comes over to me. "Excuse me ma'am are you Augustus' mother?" she asked. "Yes of course I am that's why I'm crying *sob sob*" I tell her annoyingly, she sets her hand on my shoulder to comfort me. "Well Mrs. Waters we may have to take his leg this procedure.. but if you would like to see another way to get rid of his cancer we will start to send samples to a private lab, doctors orders." She explains to me that if we don't take his leg now he'll continue to experience pain. "Yes" I say finally after contemplating forever. "Alright ma'am this way to the operation room. We will all pray that your son will be safe at last." She guides me to the room Gus is in. Memorial Hospital the hospital we go to is better than any other hospital in the area. They all are comforting and understand what pain it is to be told that their son has cancer.
gus' pov
Black. Pitch Black. Where am I? What happened? Am I dead? WHAT THE HECK? I hear something. Machines. Lots of machines. Great I'm inside an operation room getting a surgery. And I'm numb. No. No. NO. PLEASE GOD TELL ME THEY'RE NOT TAKING OFF MY LEG. ow. It hurts. Near my leg. Not my leg. My sexy leg. Dang. I now pretty much have 3 limbs now. Great. Just Great. This is amazing. My leg is coming off. BEST DAY OF MY LIFE. Gosh I'm so sarcastic. What's happening to me?! I'm moving. WHY AM I MOVING? I'm in a stretcher I believe. Going to my room? To heaven? To my death place? Mom?? Are you anywhere?? Dad? WHERE THE HECK AM I?! Then I'm awake in a new room by myself.
