I had figured out the end of this novel from the start, visualizing some conclusion where they all end up together. However, as it kept running with the story, delving deep into their journey, a reality hit me hard: their situation is much more complicated than I even initially considered it to be. The load of all the emotions they carry cannot add up to a simple settlement.

I know this ending may leave some of you feeling disappointed, sad, or even confused—it wasn't what you expected, and for that, I truly understand. But I want you to see that their pain, their struggles, are already enough. What they have endured molds them in ways that just cannot be easily and directly undone, and, sometimes, despite all of our hopes for a perfect ending, life will not and cannot give permission to return to a previous state.

I chose this ending because, after everything they've endured, it is the most fitting ending for them. It recognizes not just the complexities of their emotions, scarred identity, or the bittersweet reality that a love story couldn't possibly follow the path we wished for them. But it didn't stop their journey from being meaningful at all.

And now, Faded Echoes is complete. It feels surreal, but I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to bring this story to its end. And with this chapter closing, I’m excited to begin something new—something fresh.

I don't even know how to begin to thank you for everything you've given me along this journey: love, support, and encouragement that is through every vote, every comment, and every word. It's been something special, an experience that I will never forget, and I'll take that next story with that feeling always in my heart.
