Matthew had always disliked the mornings. He hated the sun blasting in his eyes, especially since he was right by the window. Not that he hated the warmth, just the sun.
Sitting up, he reached for his glasses and stretched, waking up. Matthew lived with his younger brother Alfred. They had settled in America after their parents died in a terrible accident. It was up to Matthew to take charge. He looked over at the clock: 10:30 a.m.
Great.. He thought, I'm going to be late..Pulling the covers off himself, he got up from his bed and walked to the closet to fetch his work uniform. He eventually got a job at a small shop that sold old antiques and such. Normally, he's the only one in the shop at the time. Opening, working, and closing the shop was his top schedule. Yet, he can't complain, it does give him money for him and Alfred.
He walked out of his room, dressed and ready. Walking into the kitchen, he saw Alfred at the table eating breakfast.
"Good Morning, Al." Matthew smiled.
"Mornin', bro!" Alfred grinned. He was always happy, yet again, he was seventeen and every teenager is usually happy. "Do you have work again today?" He asked.
"Al, I have work every day. We need money somehow." He shrugged and started making some toast.
Alfred finished his breakfast, then cleaning his plate. "Mattie? How would you feel if I went to look for a job?"
Matthew looked over at Alfred, curious. "You actually consider getting a job?"
"Yeah! Why not? Plus, it'll help us get more money! I'm sure of it." Matthew smiled, nodding. "That would be great, eh."
Alfred grinned, getting up and walking to his room and getting dressed.

The Antique Appeal shop was normally quiet in the morning. No one visited. It was the afternoon when people started to show up.Matthew walked to the door, unlocking the shop and walking in. He switched the sign from 'closed' to 'open', then talking his place behind the counter, grabbing a box of a few antiques and walking around the shop, putting them in their places and pricing them.
He then walked back to the counter, sitting in his spot and pulling out a book that he had started reading. He opened the book, then started reading where he left off.
A girl with long blonde hair and a white bow on top of her head walked in. Without a word, she walked passed Matthew into the back of the store. Matthew glanced up, knowing who it is and looking back to his book. "Morning Natalia."
"Any knives yet?" She asked, her deep violet eyes peered over an antique. "No. We haven't gotten any, yet." Matthew had to answer her same question every day at least. He questioned why Natalia wanted a knife to badly, but to stop argument, he stayed shut. She walked over and leaned against the counter. "You know when you will get any? My old one isn't working that well."
"Natalia, this is an /Antique/ shop. If you want a knife, go to an army store."
She shook her head. "Still no business, I see.""The business gets better in the afternoon." He simply answered. She gave him a long look before pulling herself up.
"I have to leave. I have a little blonde haired girl I have to meet up with. I'll be back to check up on your stocks."
He nodded, going back to his reading.
He sat there the entire day, soon finishing his book and having nothing to do. He looked out the window, seeing the streets looking a bit empty. He sighed, going back to his spot. "I should just close early.."
Yet again, he didn't want to loose his job, so he had no choice but to stay open.
"This is going to be a long day.."
