Justin's POV:A couple of weeks later, november 2011
"I think we should all spend Christmas together." Mom told us all as she cleaned her mouth with her napkin.
"Me too! That would be so great." Joan smiled at us.
We - Scooter, Mom, Ariana and Joan - were spending the evening together and having dinner in an Italian restaurant here in Los Angeles. Mistletoe, my Christmas album - where I have been working on the whole summer, came out about a month ago and it's crazy how succesful it is, even though it's just a Christmas album.
Ariana is also being quite succesful at the moment, but were not doing so great anymore. It actually breaks my heart.
Put Your Hearts Up, Ariana's first single, came out a few days after Mistletoe and it is a really great song but it's not the kind of song that makes you famous.
Ariana wrote it together with a great songwriter, but I'm 100% sure that Ariana could write a hit on her own. The song just doesn't shows the people how great she really is, plus that she never did a live performance so they still don't know how her voice really sounds like.
"Would you like that, Ariana?" Scooter asked her in all of a sudden, she was the only one who didn't really pay attention. She nodded but didn't take her eyes of the plate of spaghetti that was still in front of her, she barely ate something.
We all glanced at eachother, shared the same thoughts through our eyecontact. Ariana isn't doing great, that's the problem. She used to be a sunshine who smiles all day, you could always hear her giggle or say something cute and for as long as I've known her, she never acted strange or weird.
"Ari, sweetie, are you going to eat anything or..." Joan asked her as she putted a strand of hair behind her ear.
"No, I'm not hungry." she said bluntly. You know what also catched my attention? Her voice is so dull. I mean, not that it doesn't make my heart skip a beat like it always does, but she just sounds so tired. Her voice used to be so high and happy, and now it's just sad.
And I'm scared that the thing that I kind of feared when she signed her recorddeal came through: they hurt her.
And with they, I mean the other fandoms, the paparazzi, haters...You know how it goes.
I mean, I still get hate every single day, and of course I don't like it, but I'm used to it. It sounds sad but I just don't listen to it anymore. And Ariana is new at this job, her new life is totally different now. But yes she has fans, and people ask her for her autograph and pictures and she enjoys that but that's not what Ariana notices. She sees the mean tweets, awful letters in our mailbox and rude comments that people make.
Becoming a star, here in the USA, is really tough. You need to be as strong as you can, and I know that Ariana can be stronger. I know that Ariana can work harder.
And the baddest thing of all is that she believes them. She just regrets signing the recorddeal and I don't want her to give up right now.
"Ariana, you gotta eat something, love." Joan tried again. Ariana looked at her.
"I'm not fucking hungry!!!" she screamed. Joan was shocked, we all were. I've never seen Ariana like this.
"Ari..." I stated, but she just got up.
"I wanna go home." she said. I got up too immediatly.
"I'll take her home with my car, you guys can have your dessert or whatever, I'll take care of her." I told them as Joan smiled at me.
