Chapter 13 - The Ball

Today was the day of the ball. "Heaven baby wake up" Alex called. my eyes fluttered open “morning” I croaked he smiled and let me sit up “breakfast in bed for my beautiful mate” he places a full English with orange juice and toast “thank you Alex” I smile at him “thank your mum for me” I was about to dig in “who says mum made it” he puts I just raise my eyebrow “fine she made it” I dig in and every flavour explodes in my mouth “yum” I eat more the and toast with juice. “so what are you doing this morning” I ask taking a bite of toast I offer him some “well I’m coming to school with you then you’re coming with me to check the final plans” he told me “so with me all day” I summed up “yep”

I got dresses in some skinny jeans and a purple top with converse then headed downstairs. “Morning mom and dad” I smiled “morning sweetie ready for school” dad asked me “yes. Let me guess Alex is wondering again” it was Alex’s birthday and a few days since I killed my step father “yes” mom told me “great. Ally its clear” I shout there was pounding of footsteps when Ally and Zack came in. “thank god where is he?” she questioned “dunno best get into the living room before he comes back” she nodded and they hurried out.

Alex came back in “and where have you been” I asked “bringing their car around why” it take his hand and lead him into the living room “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” we yelled. He laughed “thanks guys you didn’t have to” he said “yes we did now present before we go to school” Ally dragged him towards the pile. He started to open them. He had finished opening all the others so it was time for mine. I handed him it.

It was a small box and in it was a ring “it’s a promise ring look inside” he did. I had it engraved ‘my heart is yours forever H x’ he looked at me “I know it isn’t much but I wanted to pay for it myself so...” he stopped me talking by kissing me “it’s perfect just like you” I hugged him. He took me to the car and I got in, fixing my seatbelt I was on my phone when I got a text from someone.

“Alex” he hummed I showed him the text; his eyes turned black with rage “Alex, baby calm down” I put my hand on his face “breathe just breathe” he closed his eyes “no one dare threatens you.” He started up the car “you are staying by my side the whole day” he told me “what about if I need the bathroom” I ask “then Ally will be there I will destroy every threat that comes to you never will you have a scratch” I rolled my eyes “Alex I love you I really do but if you try to wrap me in a cocoon I’ll kick your ass” he just laughs “would love to see you try” he says. Oh it’s on.

Arriving at the school, I get out of the car “you would wrap me in a cocoon will you” I asked pulling puppy dog eyes “not. Going to work” he stutters I stick my bottom lip out “Awex” I can see his walls tumbling down he looks away “pwetty pweez” I ask “ugh fine but no one will hurt you” he gives in I smile again “what’s going on here” Ally questions “I was testing his endurance. “So whipped” Zack laughs “both of you are the same” I take Ally’s arm and walk into school.

It was the end of Sky’s class and time for lunch “so Heaven I hear you tested Alex on his endurance” he smirked “yes very low in my case” I replied “let me see” I looked at him confused “show me that he acts like a lost puppy around you and will do as you say” I shake my head “no its mean and manipulative I only used it because he was starting to OTT on the protective.”
