Inside the surgery room,  Kook's lifeless form is the center of a flurry of activity. The doctor's eyes are sharp and focused as they perform CPR, the sound of  the heart monitor's erratic beeping piercing the air. The medical team works in silent unison, each movement precise and calculated. One nurse calls out, "BP dropping," as another administers an IV. The doctor's eyes never leave the monitors above, his thoughts racing  through potential causes and solutions. The rhythmic pumping of Kook's chest continues, a testament to their desperate hope of keeping him alive.

Dr. Kim's brow furrows as he calls out for the surgical team to prep for an emergency thoracotomy. He knows that time is of the essence, and every second counts. His hands are steady as he slices through the skin and muscle, revealing the damaged lung beneath. The tension in the room is palpable, the only sounds the whir of medical machines and the muffled cries of the nurses and doctors as they work tirelessly. Dr. Kim's heart races as he assesses the extent of the internal damage. He's seen  worse, but the personal stakes here are high. He's known Kook since  childhood, and the thought of not being able to save his life is unbearable. His mind is a blur of medical jargon and childhood memories, but he forces  himself to focus. The surgery is a delicate dance, each movement  calculated to save the man's life.

Dr. Kim's hands move swiftly, the scalpel slicing through flesh and muscle with surgical precision. His eyes dart to the heart monitor, noting the erratic beeping with a growing sense of urgency. The anesthesiologist's calm voice pierces the tension, updating him on Kook's vital signs. The doctor nods, his mind racing through possible scenarios and outcomes. Kook's pulse is weak, but there's still a flicker of life.

Meanwhile, back in Amelia's hospital room, Olivia sits by her side since Dohwan needed a break. Her own eyes are red from crying, and her voice is strained as she tries to keep the conversation light. "Remember when we all went to the beach that summer?" she asks, trying to distract Amelia from the ticking clock. Amelia's eyes light up briefly at the memory, the pain in her body momentarily forgotten. "Yeah," she says, a small smile playing on her lips. "We had so much fun, even though you cried about being sunburned."

Olivia chuckles, the sound a bit forced, as she recounts the day at the beach. "You and your sunscreen," she says, her eyes misting over. "You always had to be prepared for everything." Amelia's smile falters, the memory serving as a stark contrast to their current situation. She looks down at her bandaged hand, the pain a constant reminder of the car accident. "I'm just so scared," she admits, her voice cracking. Olivia's hand reaches for hers, her grip firm and reassuring. "We're here for you, Amelia," she says, her voice thick with emotion. "Kook's strong, he'll pull through."

The silence that follows is heavy, and Amelia feels a knot forming in her stomach. She looks up at Olivia, her eyes searching hers for any hint of deception. "Why are you being so nice to me?" she finally asks, her voice barely above a whisper. Olivia's expression falters for a moment before she recovers, her eyes glistening with tears. Olivia takes a deep breath, her eyes never leaving Amelia's. "Because you're hurt," she says, her voice gentle. "And because I care about you even when I've tried to act like a hard ass." There's a pause, and she squeezes Amelia's hand tighter. "But mostly, because you're a good person, and you don't deserve any of this." Her eyes fill with tears, and she quickly wipes them away, not wanting to break down in front of the Amelia.
