________________Second day of school and I'm already loathing the place. I was stuck in science trying not to fall asleep. Tyler snickered and poked me in the side. I jerked in my seat, then snuggled back into the comfort of my arms. I told Tyler to make sure I stayed up. I think I should fire him. "Miss White, perhaps you will have better luck staying awake while you clean this room during detention?" She called me out with a hand on her hip.
I tiredly raise my head to meet her unforgiving stare. "No thanks. I'm flattered but I don't swing that way. I might have if you were somewhat decent looking, but we can't all look like models." I smiled sweetly, resting my chin on my folded arms. A round of "Ooo's" sounded through the room. Mrs. Yuri is an average looking woman, or would be if it weren't for her misshaped nose, pointed ears and a wart the size of a roach on her chin. Other than that she had boring brown eyes, dull gray hair, and an unremarkable body.
Her face turned apple red. "Get out! Get out now! Go to the principal's office!" I flinched from the screech of her voice. "Get that shit under control, screech monkey! I don't feel like having to sue you for having the voice of a vulture." I rubbed my ears gently. I could feel a little bit of blood. The woman must have been a banshee, hands down. No human can make a person's ear bleed with a yell.
The teacher became even redder when more laughs erupted from the students. "I said OUT!" She pointed towards the door. I flipped her the bird while I grabbed my back pack. "You better take notes or your gonna be on cleaning duty." I warned. "Don't worry about it. I have perfect memory." Tyler waved me away. "Don't slam the door." The woman ordered. Just because I'm me, I slammed the door hard enough to shake the floors.
I went the principal's office to find Mr. Edwards flirting with a middle aged woman with natural red hair. "Oh come on! Where is your pride as a redhead? Get out of here." I shook my head in disappointment. The woman blushed and ran off. "That's the second time you have chased a woman from my office, miss White. I hope you have a reason?" The attractive man ran a hand through his hair.
"I got sent out the class for calling Yuri ugly, gay, and basically a vulture." I said with a shrug. I flopped down on a blue sofa in front of his desk. Mr. Edwards sat in the blue armchair facing me. "I know what you mean. She has to be part banshee." He rubbed his ears as if he could still feel pain from a past event. "But you probably came here for some reason other than because you were told to."
"You're exactly right. I need the files you have on all the supernatural students here." My tone was serious and all business.
"That could get me in a lot of trouble, Miss White. I'm going to need something in return." Mr. Edwards leaned back in the arm chair. "How long has it been since you last siphoned energy?" I asked.
"Because I didn't get it from May, two weeks." He answered. "I'll let you take what you need plus some, if you can give me some extra info." I bartered. "If I can get enough to last an extra week, deal." He stuck out his hand. "Deal." I agreed, shaking his proffered limb.
I watched the man search through a filing cabinet beside the window. When he had a thick stack of files, Mr. Edwards returned to his seat. I reached for the stack, but he pulled them out of reach. "Now so fast, Miss White. I would like to collect my payment first. You can leave with the files after." His eyes began glowing a seductive red. Different from that of a vampire's alluring red, it was a glowing dark velvet that teased your senses and called forth lust.
