"Angela, wake up sweetheart. I need you to get up." A panicky voice sounded by my ear. I opened my eyes to see a mop of blonde hair and green eyes. The eyes that were always so bright and filled with mischief, were now worried and scared.

"Kevin? What's going on?" I voice sounds so young. So innocent.

"Nothing, baby. We're going to play a little game called hide and seek." He gave me a shaky smile. "But I don't wanna play." I tried to go back to sleep.

"Come on, Angela, all you have to do is hide and stay there until I come and find you. OK?" Kevin's words were rushed but quiet. "Can you do that for me, sweetheart?"

"Sure."

Kevin took my small hand into his larger one. He lead me into the guest room. "I want you to hide in here, don't come out until I come to get you." He pushed me under the bed. "Don't go, Kevin!" A rush of fear flooded through my veins. Something was wrong and my naïve mind just realized that something bad was happening. "Don't worry sweetheart, I'll be back." He gave me a reassuring smile.

"I promise."

That was the last thing I heard before he turned off the lights and left the room. A loud bang sounded downstairs, then a whole lot of yelling. The sound of furniture breaking and glass shattering made my heart beat fast. A terrifying roar shook the house. The sounds got closer and farther at the same time.
