Slowly

I slowly fell in love with you.

Slowly like a child learning to walk
on its feet for the first time.
Slowly as the Prince finally finding
his mysterious bride.

Slowly as the leaves falling off indicating that season was now fall.
Slowly as watching the ice melt off from the branches when it becomes too hot.

It was as slow as watching a slug moving along the pavement.
As slow as watching two people finally falling in love in amazement.

But slowly you became to drift off.

Slowly as watching someone in a raft floating along.
Slowly as waiting for the bus to finally come along.

It was like slowly forgetting the lyrics to your favorite song.
I never knew you could slowly just forget about me and move on.

I slowly decided to just stop.

I slowly realized you really were not the one.

Slowly moving as the elephant who's making its way back to where they belong.

I fell in love with you the way one sleeps

Slowly and all at once,

But sometimes not at all.
