Chapter 19

All Maku could do was look at the sleeping face of Nejire Hado, the smile that formed on her face made Maki's eyes softened even more.

'so feeble and yet....you make my heart feel so...'

He couldn't finish his thoughts as his eyes slightly changed to emerald green for just a split second, his hands gently combing through the girls hair with delicacy and he felt his face burning up.

'What...why am I feeling hot? I don't have a fever so why? This feeling in my chest is getting annoying...but...I don't hate it?'

He simply thought as his hands then moved towards Nejire's face, feeling the softness...until he pulled the girls cheek, causing her whine.

"Nooooo leg me sleeeeeeeep" She said it with a whine like tone that almost made Maku to laugh but he held it in.

"You have your own bed and you still find it the need to sleep in my bed while I'm unconscious...what is that you find so appealing to do this, every. Single. Time" Maku as he emphasize the three words of his sentence as Nejire was busy pouting her face.

"Pouting doesn't answer my question, so tell me...why?"

Nejire continued to pout but then sighed while getting closer to the boy, "Is it so wrong to feel a bit of warmth from you?"

As soon as those words left her lips, Maki raises his eyebrows at the way Nejire was looking at him.

As she moved closer, her face being mere inches away from his....Maku simply pulled both her cheeks that made Nejire to whine.

" Enough with your jokes and get ready to head out"

As he said that, he go out of bed while stretching to hear the satisfying popping sounds from his joints.

"Ready for what? School isn't open today so why?" as Nejire asked that, Maku simply looked at her.

"We're running out of food supplies. Plus I need new clothing and since you're the only one who has money, it's better that you tag along"

Once Maku finished what he was saying, he walked out of the room, leaving Nejire there who had a pout on her face.

"You didn't had go pull my cheeks you know, dummy" She quietly said while having a faint blush on her face.

As school was now opened, we see Maku was dealing with something that had to be done, it was important to him for a very long time...sleeping in class without a care in the world while leaning in his seat.

"...I'll... Ki...." the sounds of snoring while mumbling a few words escaped the boys mouth while few of the students simply sweat drop at the boy who was a different person when he faced the Nomu head on.
