"Where am I...? Who am I?"

A girl asked herself. Her name was Jessica. She was lying in a small stream. Rain fell to the ground drenching her, and her clothes clung to her cold skin. She slowly staggered up.

"Hello?” She called out. "Is anybody out there?”

"Hello?” this time it wasn't her voice. Her eyes widened and she whipped around to see the caller. It was a boy, who she assumed was around her age in early twenties. He took a step forward, and she took one back, paranoid.

"I'm not going to hurt you, I promise.", he held out his hand.

"Why should I trust you?", she demanded.

"Just, please do." She eyed him suspiciously and caved in. Jessica grabbed his hand and they began to walk. Her other hand was wrapped around her own arm, attempting to keep warm. He held her hand firmly, which frightened Jessica, but she didn’t know where she was and who she was. She was going to have to take chances if she wanted to find out more information.

They arrived at a small shack surrounded by trees. A gravel road for vehicles, except, he had none. When they entered the shack it was warmer and neater then she expected. There was a small twin bed against the wall. A nightstand rested beside it, where a lamp and an alarm clock were placed. There was a bookshelf on the other side full of books and notebooks. Then there was a section that seemed to be a purpose of a kitchen. A stove, fridge, and one counter piece filled up half of that side of the cabin. A table and chair were in the middle of the cabin. Then there was a door that she assumed led to a bathroom.

“Cozy and homey huh?” he smiled at her. ”Make yourself comfortable!” She sat on his bed and looked around, muscles tense. She wasn’t going to get to trustworthy yet. ’It is pretty nice. Doesn’t look like a killing shack.’ she thought.

"So, what’s your name?” he sat in the only chair. “…Uhhh.” she thought hard. "I think, it starts with a J.” She informed him, and herself.

    “Jennie?” he asked.

    “No.”

    “Jamie?”

    “No.”

    “Jen?”

    “No.”

    “Jessica?”

Then it snapped back to her. ”Yeah! That’s it!”

    “Sweet!”

She sighed, and that’s when more came back to her.

She was walking from her class back to her dorm room. The day hadn’t been going so well. Her friends were ignoring her, she was tardy for her class, and she had lost her homework.

“Miss! Miss, can you help me?” a man came out of practically nowhere.

“Uhhh, with what?” she asked, surprised.

“I lost my puppy and I noticed it came through here. Can you please help me?”

She couldn't help it. She was an animal person, and the thought about a poor puppy alone and helpless shook her up.

    “Sure!”

They walked around searching. She had a weird feeling when he said he heard a bark from the forest. She hadn’t heard a thing, but still she followed him...

She snapped back to the present. ”Ugh, why is that all I remember?!”

“What?” the boy looked at her with a curious look. She sighed.

"Nothing, its just I woke up remembering nothing, but its slowly coming back.”

He nodded. “By the way, I’m Justin.” She smiled and nodded. ”Nice name.”
