Jessica woke up the next morning on Justin’s bed. She sat up and stretched. As she suddenly became aware of her surroundings she gasped, forgetting where she was for a second. Then she remembered everything and looked around. ’Where’s Justin?’, Jessica asked herself. She sighed and turned placing her feet on the ground. Rays of sunlight beamed in the cabin from the window. ’It looks really pretty in here with that sunlight.’ Softly laughing, she got up and stretched some more. Her clothes were still damp and she sneezed. “Great, I have a cold.”, she muttered.
She sat on the bed waiting for Justin to come back. After about ten minutes the door opened and Justin came in carrying a box of donuts.
“Oh, Good Morning Jessica!” he smiled.
“Hey, what do you have there?” She asked yawning.
“Breakfast. Did you just wake up?”
“No, I just waited for you to come back.”
“Aww, how sweet, you missed me.”
“I wouldn’t put it like that.”
“Uh huh, well anyways, are you hungry?”
“Yeah.”
Jessica still felt a little awkward around Justin since she barely knew him, but she also felt safe around him. It was actually very confusing.
“So do you remember anything about your old life other than before the accident?”
“Not a clue.” Jessica sighed.
“Hmm, well we’ll contact some people. Maybe your mom’s missing you.”
“Doubt it, she hates me.”
“How do you know?”
“…how do I know?”
Jessica sighed again. “Dumb memory.”
Justin laughed and handed her a donut. ”You like donuts?”
“I think so.” She laughed and took the donut and began to eat it, as did Justin with his. Yep, she liked donuts.
“So, you wanna come uptown with me to see what we can do about your problem?” Justin asked when he finished his donut.
“Sure.” She replied.
She hopped off his bed and followed him out the door. They headed to back of his cabin and got his bike. ”This is my only source of transportation.” He chuckled and got on. “You can get on the pegs.”
“How?”
“Just put each of your feet on the two little metal cylinder shapes.”
Jessica did so and grabbed onto his shoulders, and they were wobbly at first but they got balance and rode away and down the road.
Jessica held on tightly, but watched the trees that outlined the rode blur past. The cold morning air blew on her face, and she hid behind him for protection. Soon enough they rode into town and he turned, stopping at a building that said ‘Sunset Village Police Station’. “So…this is the jail I take it?” Jessica looked around.
“Yeah, I’ll just explain to them that I found you.”
“And that I have no clue who I am...”, Jessica finished.
“Exactly. Now come on.”
She let out a sigh and followed him into the police Station.
