The "Get Along" project

Our faces were so close and it was totally awkward
I stood up and started to walk to the other side of the table but Bucky didn't let me, so once again I was closer than I've ever been to my mortal enemy
Bucky barked
"No, this is as close as it gets" I told the dog and he walked away
Then Adam and Erica and another man I've never seen before in my entire young life
"Dad this is- wrong" Adam said interrupting himself once he saw how Alexander and I were sitting next to each other "what is happening?!" He asked
"Blame Bucky" I said "he would growl at me unless I was sitting next to this" I said pointing at Alexander when I pronounced the word this
"Bucky?" Adam asked not believing me and looking at his dog who was next to Alexander
"Look" I said moving to the chair next to me, Bucky barked like crazy and then I moved back to the seat next to the bad boy/nightmare
"Weird" Adam said and cleared his throat "anyway dad this is Thea Colvin, Thea my dad" I stood up and walked towards them
He extended his hand and I extended mine "nice to meet you Mr. Draydon" I said shaking his hand
"Please, call me Norman" he said
Then I went to sit down and Adam sat next to me, and I can say that I literally was between good and evil
We ate in peace and had a nice conversation until Erica said the most awkward/disgusting/most terrifying thing I've ever herd anybody ask
"So are you two dating?" She asked pointing and Alexander and me
Alexander spat the water he was drinking and started choking on it and I started choking on my Mac and cheese
Apparently Erica and Norman took that as a yes
"I mean cause if you are, I'm totally okay with it" Norman said
"Just remember that if you ever get caught up alone you need to use protection" Erica said
If Alexander and I weren't choking already we were definitely now
"MOM!!" Alexander yelled once he caught his breath
"What?" His mom asked innocently and serious
"We aren't dating!" He yelled
"And we are never going to" I said keeping myself alive "not that you don't have..." I looked at Alexander "something here, but not even as crazy lunatics we would date"
"I'd prefer to kill myself than date her" Alexander spat
"Hey!" I said offended "I'm not that bad"
He raised his eyebrows
"But I agree with you" I said agreeing with him as an obvious matter
Adam started laughing the minute his mom asked the question and he hadn't stopped, in fact he was laughing harder and harder each time we said a word
"Mom......that was just.......the best way.......to kill.....this two" he said and laughed harder
"But Adam and I are dating" I said
At the end of that sentence his humor seemed to evaporate
"What?" He asked and looked at me
"Still, use protection" his mom said
"Not so funny now, huh?" I asked once I saw Adam blushing
"So wait" Norman asked "who's dating who?"
"Nobody is dating nobody!!" Alexander said stressed out "gosh Norman are you stupid?! Wait don't answer that we all know you are"
I was actually stunned by his sudden behavior
I looked at Norman, he looked like if the only person he loved had just placed a bullet on his heart, he looked so pained I actually felt his pain, and it was so hurtful
Alexander went upstairs (I suppose to his room) and slammed the door
"I'm sorry about that" Erica cleared her throat
"It's okay" I said softly "I have family issues myself"
After seeing Norman like that I wondered if my parents felt like that and a tear ran down my left cheek
"Can I talk to him?" I asked
The Draydons looked at me surprised but agreed and Adam took me to his room

Okay that sounded like a different he took me to his room, lemme clear out that I meant to say that he guided me to Alexander's room
