"you may now kiss the bride"
i closed my eyes as jeonghan leaned in, his lips meeting mine with a seraphic softness. the kiss was brief but the touch felt lingering even as we broke apart, the fleeting gesture sealing the promise of a lifetime.
my eyes fluttered open meeting his, the gentle smile on his face mirroring my own. warm with gratitude.
after everything ... he was mine and i was his.
it wasn't just an expression anymore, but a vow. a lifelong commitment.
the night felt like an intimate celebration, jeonghan's family, sunwoo, all our friends, gathered together for what would surely be one of my most special memories.
his parents and sister felt like my own. their affection genuine despite our rocky history. soobin in particular, had a good time trying to get under sunwoo's skin only for jeonghan to defend sunwoo, just to make sure the teasing doesn't turn into something 'more'. his argument? our relationship started with teasing too.
as the ceremony proceeded, we were dragged to the dance floor, hara and soojin pulling me away despite jeonghan's playful whining. his friends - all 12 of them - gathered around him, teasing him for being clingy.
eventually, seungkwan steered me away, saying i owed him a dance for being the unintentional matchmaker. i laughed, placing my hand over his palm.
"as long as my husband is not jealous."
he chuckled, rolling his eyes playfully. "your husband knows i stand no chance."
i smiled, a warmth rising in my chest as reality started to sink in. glancing over my shoulder, i spotted jeonghan with his parents and threw him a wink, chuckling as he tried and failed to explain to his concerned mom why he was suddenly turning red.
seungkwan swayed me to the music, and then to dk and hoshi's voice as they sang a sweet love song.
"i love seeing you happy." seungkwan said all of a sudden.
i blinked in surprise but before i could reply, he stepped away with a final warm smile and someone else swooped me in his arms. my heart skipped a beat as i realized it was jeonghan.
"come on arin, hip-hop!" sunwoo cheered and jeonghan rolled his eyes. i chuckled as he twirled me around, the hem of my dress swaying as we breezed through the song.
eyes on each other.
and the world shrunk to a face.
his.
eventually, the day faded away, and the faint laughter of our friends and family hung like a comforting blanket over the night's silence. joshua approached me, raising his champagne glass as dino, being too drunk on the alcohol and vibes, started to say another overly sentimental toast.
"the two of you look beautiful together." joshua said, a genuine and soft smile on his face.
i took a sip of my wine, raising my brows playfully. "you deserve a lot of credit."
he laughed, shaking his head at my audacity. "you're something else."
"something fabulous." i answered dramatically, making him laugh harder.
"yeah sure."
"anyway, shua" i smirked. "when are you proposing to her?"
his eyes widened and before he could reply, seungcheol came, draping his arm over joshua's shoulder. jeonghan who was a few steps behind took his place beside me, his arm brushing against mine.
