Chapter 34: A Delicate Balance
The clock ticked slowly. She couldn't concentrate, but she have to. Hyunjie's hands trembled slightly as she kept her eyes fixed on the clock. The final minutes dragged. At five p.m., she packed her belongings, her heart racing.
The elevator doors slid open, and Hyunjie stepped in, her fingers hovering over the buttons. Room 205. Her heart pounded. She took a deep breath, steeling herself for the unknown. The doors opened on the 20th floor. Hyunjie's heels clicked on the plush carpet as she approached Room 205. She raised her hand, hesitated, then knocked softly.
The door swung open, revealing Eros's chiseled features, his eyes burning with intensity. "Hyunjie," he whispered, stepping aside.
She entered, her senses overwhelmed by the luxurious room and Eros's magnetic presence. The door closed softly behind her. "What brought you here?" Hyunjie asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Hyunjie's back pressed against the door, her escape route blocked by Eros's towering figure. His hand rested beside her head, trapping her. "What are you doing?" she stuttered, surprise mingling with nervousness.
Eros's piercing gaze held hers. "A year without your smile, your laughter, your touch," he whispered, voice laced with longing. "I endured the agony, Hyunjie, sacrificing my own happiness to support your dreams." His warm breath caressed her skin. "But the distance consumed me. Every waking moment, I'm haunted by memories of our love."
Eros's eyes blazed with intensity, his voice cracking with emotion. "I've tried to fill the void, but nothing fills the space you left. Your dreams were worth the sacrifice, but now it's my turn." He paused, his fingers grazing her cheek.
Hyunjie's heart raced. "What do you want from me, Eros?" she whispered.
Eros's lips curved into a tender smile. "I want every moment. I want us, Hyunjie." Eros's words melted Hyunjie's defenses. She felt the warmth of his breath, the tenderness in his eyes and the longing in his touch. Her resolve crumbled.
Eros's lips crashed against Hyunjie's, releasing a pent-up longing. His kiss was passionate, thirsty and all-consuming, as if devouring every moment lost. Hyunjie's lips, once frozen in uncertainty, now melted into his embrace, awakening dormant emotions.
Their tongues intertwined, rekindling the familiar spark. Eros's hands cradled Hyunjie's face, deepening the kiss. Hyunjie's arms wrapped around his waist, surrendering to the fervent reunion. Eros's lips parted from Hyunjie's, his hungry gaze devouring her features. "I missed you so much, Hyunjie," he breathed, his whisper warm against her ear.
His arms enveloped her, pulling her into a crushing embrace. Strong fingers splayed across her waist, holding her possessively. "It's like I don't want to let you go again," he confessed, his voice cracking with vulnerability.
Hyunjie's heart fluttered. "I want you to be mine, Hyunjie," Eros continued, his tone fierce. "Forever mine. My love, my heart, my everything."
Hyunjie's soul was engulfed by the fervor in Eros's eyes. His words resonated deeply, awakening a longing she'd tried to bury. She surrendered to his embrace, her heart beating as one with his. "I'm yours, Eros," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
Eros's jaw clenched, his eyes narrowing. "Good. I don't want another man to take you away from me," he said, a hint of possessiveness edging his tone.
Hyunjie's brow furrowed. "What? It's been a year since I lost contact with Gabriel Shields," she replied, confusion etched on her face. "I only talk to Harry and Maya now. And what's this about my boss?" Eros's gaze drifted, lost in thought. Memories of his encounter with Gabriel Shields flooded back.
